Eric Hassan is having a birthday on 5 Apr (that's today here, folks, even if not quite yet in the US). My warmest best wishes for the day to an extraordinary man. He is friendly, amusing and engaging, and a delight to chat with. I wish he was the dude next door to me! (Although I'd probably be broke if he were.) Happy birthday.

Thank you for all the kind words and well wishes! I'm so happy that I get to share my birthday with you :)

 

As part of my daily routine, I read a "spiritual" lesson each morning. I spend a few minutes thinking about it, then I write a sentence or two to remind me of the lesson and attach it to a reminder that goes off every 30 minutes, all day and night. When the bell rings and the reminder pops up, I pause and reflect. I wanted to share today's lesson with you because I find it fitting.

 

"Each day a thousand treasures come to me with every passing moment. I am blessed with gifts throughout the day, in value far beyond all things of which I can conceive. A brother smiles upon another, and my heart is gladdened. Someone speaks a word of gratitude or mercy, and my mind receives this gift and takes it as its own. And everyone who finds the way to God becomes my savior, pointing out the way to me, and giving me his certainty that what he learned is surely mine as well."
