Living in NYC and sometimes needing a place to go for a little romp with someone.

I used 3 times the (in)famous Liberty Inn, which has VERY tiny rooms, very basic, and in my experience just decently clean and with no shower. $90 for up to 2 hours.

@Larstrup here suggested this site www.dayuse.com and I just found out that with 10/20 more $ you can have a MUCH better room and for 4 hours instead of 2!

At Liberty Inn every straight or gay couple goes there with the same, specific purpose, and of course at the hotel they totally know it.

I am wondering how it works/feels when 2 men go to the front desk of the Courtyard Marriott on Broadway and 55th asking for the key to a room to use for 4 hours?...

Any personal experience?

Good question. All these main stream hotels have recently gotten into this "day use" idea, but they market it as intended for business meetings. I'm not sure how they can stop the most obvious use, or if they even care.

EDIT: So I looked more closely at the day use site and notice that some of these hotels offer "Bottle of Champagne" to be included with the room for an extra charge. So that indicates they are marketing for the obvious.

Actually, each property (deal) offers a different allotment of time. The minimum being four hours with some of them extending to six hours. It's certainly a good alternative if you're in one of the currently available cities.

I used this service one time and was quite satisfied.

The only suggestion I would offer is that you do a bit of research on the property before booking... the one place I chose was a well-located manhattan hotel, but also very very small, so it did not offer much "anonymity" - not necessarily a problem (and it was not for me), but may be a concern to some.

Are they supposed to stop it if it's obvious? Serious question.

They've seen *everything* they won't stop, question, etc. you just be discreet. I have an upscale holiday inn near me that offers a day rate from 1 PM to 5 PM. I've used it many many times, to the point where they know my name upon arrival, LOL

Never a question, I check in alone, meet my guest a bit later in the lobby and go up.

You mean, celebrating successful business meetings? :p

Why would they even think to stop 2 adults from going into a hotel room for a few hours?

And believe me, folks who work in hotels have seen it all. I don't think half of them even give a thought at all to what you're doing. I'm almost certain nobody there gets paid to care about your business.

Yes they have. You soon would recognize the same well dressed beautiful woman as she entered the hotel, went straight to the elevators, and leave some time later. Valet parkers, who for the appropriate tip, would keep the car near the entrance rather than put it in the garage and charge you the parking fee. Once, an extended family was living in the hotel for several months, and one of the older men would come down to the desk, get an extra room, and return with the key an hour or 2 later.

I once met one of our better known escorts at a hotel. we went to lunch after, checked out. about an hour later i realized i had left my phone charger in the room. i went back, housekeeping went to the back and brought back my charger . . . and my leather jock . . . and my extra lube! she had a totally blase expression like it happens all the time!

So, if a couple wants a bit of discretion the ideal would be for one to check in, take possession of the room, communicate the number to the other who will directly walk to it?...

That's what I do, or if there is an elevator requiringroom key - you check in alone, check out room (light the candles your brought) then go back and meet your guest in the lobby.

Again no hotel staff will ever say a thing, my backup line if anything happens is "I'm doing job interviews" and in fact have done that in the legit biz world when interviewing out-of-town prospects.

Good post. I typically pass on escorts that can't host because how complicated it is for me to secure a room. First, you typically can't check in till 3:00, which is a problem for me. I know, that sometimes you can do the early check-in thing but again. The whole logistics thing. Then, and this for me is even more onerous, the whole credit card thing. I do this on the DL and I'm so paranoid of leaving a paper trail. I've checked out the two sites posted here for these day rooms and only there's only one place in Ft Lauderdale. Wouldn't you think that the escorts doing only "outcalls" would have a roster of places that cater to this? I mean, that's just good business right?

Some secondary advice stemming from this thread:

An escort doing a lot of localized work or repeatedly frequenting the same hotels might look into taking good care of the valets and concierge. These are gatekeepers and the people who can be your eyes and ears when you might need them most. To this day, I keep a solid relationship with a variety of hotels and it's served me well on a number of occasions.

Well I think I found a place that may cater to my needs. Haven't tried it yet but a forum member turned me on to this place where allegedly there is no check in time and one can get a room for a minimum of five hours.

If I'm not mistaken Club Ft. Lauderdale is gay bathhouse and part of a national chain of bathhouses with other clubs in Dallas, Houston, Indianapolis, St. Louis and Columbus. There may be other cities as well but you could verify by checking out the website. You buy a 6-month membership (good for all clubs nationally) and then pay for the type of amenity you want....locker or room.

I know here in Dallas locker and room rentals are valid for 8 hours. @Mount N Do ...the rooms are not actual hotel rooms, rather, they are small cubicles with a 4-inch foam mattress on a wooden bunk. However, they would serve you well. You are guaranteed privacy, they accept cash, there are communal showers for cleaning up and generally the Clubs are clean and safe. The manager of Club Dallas told me the Ft. Lauderdale Club is their flagship club. Hope this helps.
