Sorry to pick nits, @purplekow , but it was the '79 championship team that was the "We Are Family" Pirates. They might or might not have continued to use the song, but the Pirates weren't really a powerhouse again until the early 90s. Not a Pgh guy, but a baseball guy :-D

They did continue to use the song through the early 80's, but you are correct that they had their most success with the

1979 team and after that, they were a good to middling team in the early 80's. Of course, I am comparing them to the Mets of the same era, and for the most part Dave Parker and Willie Stargell make them seem like powerhouse team in my memory.
