How Pervasive is the Posting of Rentmen Ads by Pimps?

I can't believe I just discovered this forum after so many years of using Daddy's reviews and lamenting its decline / disrepair, so my thanks to all of you dedicated "Masters" and "Barons", etc. Finally, this is a place to help fight back against the rip-offs--I've been burned too many times especially because I enjoy BBC escorts and so many of them are pimped out by individuals (or agencies like Bel Ami) who for sure manage multiple escorts using ads that are formatted nearly identically. I'm so surprised that with all of the threads I've read in this Deli Forum there are often helpful references to stolen pics and/or photoshopping yet none of the comments ever highlight the fact that full time pimps are often involved posting Rentmen ads, providing incall locations, etc. I mean 25 year old escorts don't generally have furnished Midtown or Hollywood luxury apartments, and nor would they write some of the ads that you come across--like a 23-year old escort is going to say "fellas" in his ad or use excellent grammar and bullet points?! A lot of folks on here have lamented the sharp climb in escort rates, but when you take into account the pimps needing to get their cut, it's not at all surprising that pricing has been pushed upward.

Just some observations from a "newbie"...

Bel Ami doesn't really deal with BBC models so I am highly surprised that they have an escort wing that does. Also pimps are a rarity if at all in the gay escort world. especially on Rent men. Now the massage parlors etc may be different because some guys are brought thinking they will get jobs and then get their passports taken and are pressured into doing sex work. That's different. but Rent Men... not really.

I don't think that has anything to do with pimps. I think those are copycat ads - young newbie escorts (or would-be escorts that might be scammers) just copying the style of others' ads to use for their own. The backpage ads are full of this - stuff like the bullet points or that specific kind of colloquial language, etc. I don't see it so much on RM, but maybe there's more of it in other cities.

I know of two pimps/agents whatever...who get MUCH better looking guys than the average rentmen ad (including ones who NEVER advertise.) rarely do these pimps advertise except to get new numbers for their private contact lists. That all having been said - yes you can end up bait and switched on the ad in terms of pictures. But this all has been rare for me.

A friend of mine here in SF who has a taste for BBC said that he saw a guy who had a "manager." He said there were never any issues and they had an amicable arrangement. He also said that he was always on time and reliable. When he decided to go independent, he became flaky and was always late (if he showed up at all) and finally stopped seeing him. I think some guys just need that structure. Not all managers are bad, just like other sorts of talent agencies.

Personally, I miss the agencies. They always made sure the talent was consistent, easy to book and for the most part, reliable. I think the working guys also liked it as they didn't have to be on their phones constantly trying to book business and deal with all the time wasters and flakes. One escort I used to see said that he would work for an agency in a second if there was one in his area. He just didn't want to deal with all the administrative work.

You would think in these changing times, an agency business model, providing discretion and quality, would be beneficial to both providers and clients.

Planetjockboys, seems odd to me. It has been discussed on this board, people say they have used them. But, I have never seen any of those guys, have an ad on any other sites. And when you're talking to planetjockboys about hiring. You are not dealing with them directly, u are dealing with an agent. Almost seems like a pimp setup to me.

Ok, I'm now totally confused on the BBC, but not rare that I get confused.

Occasionally, guys on PJB will ad on RM, but since I've never hired any, cannot say they have severed their relationship with PJB.
