My eyes nearly left their sockets when I saw the picture the picture of Richard Winsor on todays NYT Arts & Leisure section. What gives with this play of "sexual enslavement" and "homoeroticism (that) is so suppressed that it seems comically antique".

Wish I was in NYC to catch this!

I also enjoyed the picture of Richard Winsor and Belinda Lee in "Play Without Words" on the front page of the Times' Arts and Leisure section. Also liked the article Boston Guy posted about Winsor in "Car Man."

Matthew Bourne's "Car Man" is available on DVD, but has four nasty reviews on Amazon.com, apparently the piece was ruined in post-production with many changes in camera angles that you can not enjoy the story.

As to Bourne's "Play Without Words," I will be in New York during its three week run at BAM (Brookly Academy of Music) and have been wondering about seeing it for a couple of weeks instead of checking out the new version of the Museum of Modern Art. The picture in the Times makes "Play Without Words" look hot and very sexy, just the picture to lure in a large queer audience. But who knows if that picture represents the production? Maybe I should read the article in the Time again to see how often Winsor gets naked.

Would apreciate it if Lucky or someone else who sees it, post about its over all quality and, more important, the scenes with Winsor.

Perhaps the MOMA can wait, MOMA is not going anywhere!

Well, I won't be able to see it (Play Without Words), but if it is anthing like his Swan lake, it will be very sexy.

In a similar vein, Ethan Steifel did "Dance without Words" for the American Ballet Theater a couple of years ago, and it was the most exciting and sexy dance I have ever seen, with perhaps the exception of the beer bottle dancer in Bangkok!:)

Can we bring the beer bottle dance from Thailand to BAM?

I also saw Bourne's "Swan Lake" and liked it a lot. My only problem was seeing Nureyev in a number of the classic ballets. Nureyev was so charismatic and over the top that he probably spoiled me for anyone else, no matter how different the production. His performances were comparable to Ethel Merman's in "Gypsy." Seeing Merman as Moma Rose has made it difficult for me to fully enjoy others in the lead role.

I'm glad this discussion happened, because now I WILL see "Play Without Words." It a new work, independent of any other and totally

removed from Rudolph Nureyev.
