When I first started gingerly exploring gay stuff on the internet, I came across a reference to the Hanky Code, although I think it actually said the Bandanna Code. I had never heard of such a thing and was fascinated! When I looked for more info I came across a chart far simpler than this one, but basically the same. Do guys still follow this in bars or clubs? I've still never been to a gay bar, but if/when I go, I'll stick a navy blue hanky in my right back pocket!

It probably does. Apparently, hankies, like words, may be ambiguous and have multiple meanings.

 

Until there is an ISO standard, we will always have this confusion.

Would that be ISO 6969?

Of course! Or at least I hope so.

There's an ISO technical committee for screw threads. Probably not the kind we typically discuss here, but at least there's hope for ISO 6969. :)
