Thanks very much to cash4trash for all his efforts in helping me to make this happen.

We have a date, a time and a place.

Saturday, March 19, 2005 8:00 PM

Location:

Sofia

Ristoranti Italiano

221 West 46th Street

New York, NY 10036

212-719-5799

I understand that some of you have been there before. I am told that its about four doors away from the Gaiety, or the distance covered by 5 or 6 well hung men (using AOL measurements, of course).

Please reply to this post or e-mail privately if you plan to attend, no later than Wednesday March 16, 2005. The restaurant would like an estimate a couple days in advance and we'd like to contact them Thursday morning.

Will post confirmation details as the time draws near, including a way to identify ourselves. How does "Northeast Investors Club" sound?

What's wrong with Hooville? Isn't that how they ID themselves in LA?

Or...to really honor HooBoy, how about the Int'l Garbo Fan Club?

Or the Nick Carter Appreciation Society?

P.S. I'll private message you, too, re: our attendance...

Yes, and I think in SF and FL too.

It's actually pretty safe. Anyone who overhears it will think of the Grinch. If they don't, they should be at your table. ;-)

SF identifies under Hooville, and a yellow rubber ducky on the table. But that might get ya bashed in NYC at an Italian joint. I'd hate to see Hotdad go through a window after all of the trouble he's gone through.

Thanks, all, for the suggestions. I have no preference one way or the other so we'll use "Hooville" gathering.

I might have to skip the duck, however; my toys are all packed up.

If I do get thrown through the window, for whatever reason, I only hope that its with enough velocity to carry me right onto the stage of the nearby Gaiety.

Looking forward to seeing you all,

Damn, I'd love to meet you all for dinner but I'll be in Fort Lauderdale for the weekend (per my 411 in the Deli)

Thanks for setting the plan, Dad.

If it works out, maybe we can do in again (when I can be there).

Enjoy yourselves.

With the announcement (verified) that the Gaiety is shutting it's doors tonight, are we still on for Saturday?

Was planning on watching the Gaiety show, but I suddenly find myself free :(

The HooBoy Memorial Dinner is ON for this coming Saturday, at 8:00 PM, details above. Several people have already confirmed their desire to attend. Look forward to seeing all of you there.

I just heard about the Gaiety demise; distressing news indeed. I had been trying to get a former bartender from Stellas to join us on Saturday (I may still be able to), but now it seems that more places are closing down on us.

Hey guys, please come and join us in a drink or two to celebrate our site creator and lament the loss of some great locations. It would be nice to hear some candid memories ! ! !

Guys, how did it go? I tried my best to make it there but it just didn't happen. OK, I'll confess: I was wiped out from an overnight appointment Derek and I had done the night before, so I lay down to take a quick nap at around 7, and woke up 4 hours later. But HooBoy and I tried to get together so many times and it often turned out that way, so maybe it was fitting in some way.

It was a small, intimate group who shared a pleasant evening of dinner and conversation. Really nice to meet some fellow M4M'ers in person. We seriously considered writing you up here as a no-show, but decided we would cut you a little slack. You were missed. I kept watching for those trademark ass cheeks to enter the restaurant, but alas, it was not to be.

Why not just ask for the green hanky table?

Funny you say that because I'd planned to drop my pants and back into the restaurant. :p Do you think there's a chance of making this a regular thing like they do in other cities?

That would have made some entrance and some impression ! ! !

I just finished my move so I'm back in circulation with e-mails, etc.

The gathering was small, but very nice. Great to meet some fellow posters from here.

I would definitely like to do it again and try to get more people to attend. I'd also like to see the get together turn into a regular thing, maybe once every other month. Any and all ideas are welcome.
