Based on the 1993 movie, A Bronx Tale, it's now a Broadway musical. The play is directed by Robert De Niro, who also directed and starred in the original film. It's a story of a young Italian-American boy named Calogero growing up in the Bronx during the 1960's. After witnessing a shooting by the local mob leader named Sonny, the two become friends. "C", as Sonny now calls him, is fascinated by the life of the mob. Now, the struggle of good vs. evil unfolds as C's father, Lorenzo, strongly objects to this friendship.

It's a fast paced play with a very talented cast. Good singing, dancing, acting, and set design. The actor who plays young Calogero, Hudson Loverro, is a real ham. Bobby Conte Thorton is excellent a the older C. The roles of Lorenzo and Sonny are also well done.

One of the appeals to this show is the connection between the cast and the audience. You'll laugh and cry, and even go ahhh, when Jane unlocks the car door. The 2nd Act will remind you so much of West Side Story.

I thoroughly enjoyed it.
