Add me to the list of those who would not have been escorting nearly as long as I have (6 years this May, I'm surprised and pleased to say) without this site, without Hooboy. Based on the first few years of my behavior in the Message Center, I could almost say I succeeded in spite of it.

But because of this simple, smart, necessary idea Hooboy had of "reviewing escorts" I, and many others, have had a very very good run. For that I am very grateful. In the beginning of this site and my years as an escort Hooboy made several efforts for the two of us to meet. After a few years of missed opportunities, we slowed down the efforts with the cliche', short-sited attitude that there would always be time. We were wrong. Damn.

He was a mystery, a good man, and truly an innovator. I'm extremely grateful to him. I'm sorry he's gone, he will be missed.

Hagen,

This site absolutely made a difference for me. I no longer advertise anywhere officially, but I still get business every month thanks to this site.

But on top of that, Hoo-Boy provided this great forum where we could all get together and share our views, for better or worse.

My own personal contact with Hoo-Boy was via a few e-mails, which he always answered and was always professional or friendly as the situation called for.

I did offer my thanks to Hooboy - repeatedly and emphatically. I only ever exchanged brief emails with him, but I always made certain to include a paragraph about how positively and profoundly this website affected me and my business. It has.

Before Hooboy, there was almost no way to distinguish the studs from the duds, the wheat from the chaff in the escort world. Regardless, of where any of us fell in that spectrum, it offered us an incentive to carve our niche and to do better. Suddenly, offering superior services encouraged more business via positive reviews that discerned one escort from another, but - and this has been the most important element for me - it also encouraged clients to improve.

Clients, armed with reviews and this forum, could be assured, relatively speaking, of meeting a man that suited their tastes and that would offer them respect and a memorable experience. This fundamentally altered the dynamic of the relationship. It elevated some escorts from the fag rag hustlers with nice bodies to men. Thus, clients, for the most part, interacted with us as men, and this, at least on occasion, brought a joy and mutuality that I love.

Personally, I have been fortunate to meet some of the most charming, brilliant, and sophisticated men imaginable. Many of whom would not have been able to pick me from any other shiny apple in the bunch without the novel idea of reviews.

Because of this, I get nearly all of my business through this site (over 80% of the traffic on my website is linked through this one). I actively attempt to pull myself off of other sites (some of which claim I speak Russian, or that I am Japanese), but that is nearly impossible, as I am certain other escorts can attest. Frankly, I enjoy the respect and joy that I share with the clients that find me through here, and this is not true of other sites.

What I have to thank Hooboy for is the integrity, respect, and joy that he brought to escorting.

I am thankful to Hooboy for one other thing, being a role model. As I have mentioned, I never met him personally, and I am certain that, like most of us, he had his ups and downs, his quirks and foibles, his good days and his bad days. However, that is rarely how a man is measured.

Hooboy had a scintillatingly brilliant idea that revolutionized how escorting occurred. People have brilliant ideas all the time, but rarely have the character, ability, or determination to bring them to fruition. Hooboy did. I am sure I do not know 5% of it, and, perhaps, that is why I can romanticize it. Still, I have only respect for a man that had an idea, and was able to bring it to life. I sincerely hope that he loved his work, as I envision him doing so. I know I want to find my idea, and be fortunate enough and talented enough to make it work.

Thanks Hooboy

The first time I got a review I was completely freaked out. The site was new, and I received very little internet business (still mostly phone work). My massage wrok was still very early out of school, and I really had no idea outside of my training how to make it a good experience.

However, when this site came along, it changed everything. Over time I began to pay attention to what clients were looking for (Its not always as obvious as it seems). The good reviews rolled in and my business became something very different. However, I always had this fear that there was this guy named "hooboy" pulling the strings, making decisions that I had no control over. Was he a fair guy? Didnt know him, so who was to say?

Then I got him on my table, and he wrote a good a review. Still have no recollection of meeting him, he didnt identify himself. He did offer advice from time to time though. He refused to publish pics that I sent because he felt they didnt represent me in the light that my business needed. He turned out to be an ok guy. And I relaxed. I guess you could say that Hoo is part of the reason that I still enjoy working this business.

"Thank You"

I believe that Thank you which should have been said to him while he could hear and feel the appreciation, is what Hoo Boy received from many (although, unfortunately, not all) escorts.

Finally, as I said elsewhere, he is definitely going to be missed. As I told him directly many times, I am also grateful to him as I think this site also had a positive influence on both the calibar of clients and the quality of the experiences I have.

Unlike nearly all of the escorts on here, I was available for hire for a short while in San Francisco, pre-internet, prior to this site, when as Jake mentioned, all my clients came to me from a text based ad and via a actual LAND line, not a cell or pager.

I know my experience then is both qualitatively different and also fuller and, surprisingly, more complete now, partially due to my being older but largely due to feedback from clients (reviews and otherwise) and to this site.

As I said before, this site and keeping it intact in one form or another, would be the most fitting legacy for the site and for the man who conceived it.

RE: "Thank You"

I first started posting on this site, probably almost as soon as it opened, right after I had been arrested and had lost my massage license. I was, in a way, devastated. I had been escorting, off and on for about twenty five years at that point. My whole way of life, as well as most of my livelihood was shattered. My self confidence took a great big blow. My relationship with my new lover, Maverick, was endangered. Maverick and I did go to couples counceling, and it did help a lot. But this site helped as much or more. For several years, I was able to talk with everyone as one of the few exescorts who posted here, able, perhaps, to speak from an escort's view a bit more honestly than a practicing escort could. Or at least I was allowed to think that. I recovered, my relationship recovered, my self confidence nearly recovered, or so I thought. Then, I was going to go to Dallas for something or other, and I did the ballsy thing, for me at that time, of listing here in the Travelling Escorts section. Shortly after that, I mentioned in a thread that I was thinking about coming back out of retirement and someone answered back that he had thought from looking at my Dallas thread that I all ready had. And I realized that I all ready had. This bird had been healed and returned to the wild.

HooBoy himself was always very careful to point out that Aaron had given him the idea for this site. But this site was very necessary to a lot of us, and for it to work it had to be done by a nonescort, and a very determined, witty, warm one to boot. It could not have been done without him.

And because it was here and gave us all the validation we needed to progress, and because, I hope, it will continue to do just that in its unparalled way, I am radical enough to believe that when, one day soon (only two or three decades away) escorting is legalized in the USA, it will have been largely because of this site.

I don't share much on the message boards and besides communicating with my clients know little of what occurs here... but I do know that its creation and the man who created it has made an immense difference in my and my partners life as well as countless others.

I was extremely disheartened to hear of Hooboy's passing. At the same time I was incredibly greatful that I was able to meet and share lunch with him a few years ago in Manhattan. He was so nice to me and always went out of his way, despite his seemingly endless schedule, to accomodate me when the need arose. I have read so many posts about him and I find it comforting to know that so many people were as positively affected by this soul as I was. So here's to Hoo...

Sincerely, Adrian of Orlando
