I am finally getting to visit Montreal for the first time. Just looking for advice on the gay scene there.

Have heard of Stock, Campus and Taboo and am looking forward to them. Nothing jumps out at me

on the Montreal escort reviews, although there there are some neat prospects on Rentmen. There have probably been threads on this, could anyone guide me to them or good internet info. Thanks.

Hard to give a recommendation if we're not sure what you're looking for.

St Viateur bagels are good as @azdr0710 mentioned. I enjoyed the poutine at La Banquise. Stock and campus are close together, check them both out. After hours dancing - stereo has the best sound system I've heard in North America.

Looking for a hot power bottom - look up Sam Kinky, he really is phenomenal. Maybe a bathhouse if that is something you're interested in. G.I. Joe is nestled right near campus and stock.

Don't forget to check out Old Montreal, and the port area. Basilique Notre Dame de Montreal is an amazing sight. The underground mall is interesting - I even found a cool indoor ice skating rink connected to there. The Olympic stadium is a nice quick trip, and the biodome was fun to walk through as well.

The metro is extremely useful and easy to use in Montreal, take advantage of it, get a 3 day, or week pass. If you're going during the colder months bring layers, and comfortable shoes with good grip. The sidewalks tend to be very slippery.

Most importantly, enjoy your time there. Don't get too caught up in the what to do, and just enjoy everything right outside your door.

Cheers!

It's been a while since I've been to Montreal but last time I was there I got propositioned a couple times on the street by guys on St. Catherines in the village. They all spoke perfect English but that was before I hired so I didn't find out their rates, etc and just said I wasn't interested

I took four semesters of college French but am still not fluent. I'm pretty good with the accent (at least the Parisian one), but my vocabulary and comprehension leaves a lot to be desired. Before going to Montreal I hired a French tutor in an attempt to prepare myself. It was a little disheartening when every time I addressed someone in French, they responded in English.

gee, sorta liked the old avatar better, but this one ain't bad ;)

similar language story for me: during my one and only (so far) visit to Montreal a year ago, trying not to be an ugly American, I'd politely ask in French, "bonjour, parlez-vous anglais?"......replies ranged from, "yeah, wadaya want?", "yeah, I'm from Toronto", to a slightly perturbed "I will try".....

Glad to hear more. Im going to be there next monday thru friday. It occurred to me that someone else from Daddys

world might be there and it might be fun to meet. I'm over 70, a former prof, enjoy the site a lot, good sense of humor.

It's a shame that we'll just miss each other. I arrive next week Saturday and leave the following Monday. Be safe, and have fun!
