Anyone have recommendations for Austin? I am a bit lost now that Backpage is gone ... Not much on Rentmen site ... that seem to be engaged, or perhaps that is just me.

 

Any other tips on Austin regarding gay friendly businesses like hotels, restaurants and clubs would be helpful.

You would think between UT Austin and Texas State University in San Marcos (formerly Southwest Texas State and super hot guys) there would be tons of choices...

Austin is enormously gay friendly and Fourth Street is home to many, but not all, of the gay bars. Because of the large public universities, the crowd tends to be young and slutty. The police do not have a reputation for harassing. The police have a reputation for reasonableness with respect to gays, minor traffic infractions, personal marijuana use, and illegals. I've not heard or read a complaint in the 7 years I've been here and out. The escort scene is, however, a major disappointment. Because the police don't crack down on it, there are many escorts. On the other hand, no one has very praised the quality. Personally, I wait for visiting talent, or I travel to Dallas or Houston.

There are several good escorts in Austin. I guess it depends on the type of guy you are looking for. I know that Backpage varied quite a bit by city, but in Austin it was primarily used by African American escorts. If that's what you're looking for, then you are right that the options are very limited on Rentmen Austin.

 

Don't forget San Antonio. It's not a huge selection, and a lot of the guys advertise in both cities because it's such an easy commute, but there are some hot guys there. Most any San Antonio escort will come to Austin for a 2 hour appointment.

 

It's probably easier to get someone to come from Houston for a multi hour appointment than it is Dallas, but I don't have a ton of experience with asking guys to commute. It's only a 1/2 hour difference, but virtually everyone I know who does both thinks the Dallas to Austin commute is much more grueling.

Last week I spent two overnights plus a third evening at my hotel in Houston with cute, young guys I met on SA.

 

In retrospect doesn't feel very Mickey Mouse, though my preferences may differ from others'.
