I am not interested in his morals. What pisses me off is that he has no respect for the people (his fans) that made him, their time, their money. He was tired.... Fuck him, These people paid over $100 to see him, and most of them probably couldnt afford it. They need to abandon him.... He's another megalomanic thats gets off on the adoration of "the little people" who he acknowledges are beneath him. IMO he's a disgusting disgrace. His attitude detracts from any talent he might have musically. Its well known his fashion aesthetic was widely panned by the fashion industry, so there's no talent there...

Hock Farm Craft and Provisions, an American-style restaurant nearby Golden 1 Center, the arena wherein Kanye performed, took to their menu to create a special dining option for those with a sense of humor about the rapper on the day of his concert.

The dish, a $35 "Yeezy" pizza, is made with mortadella and mac 'n' cheese. It is listed as "cheesy, full of baloney and overpriced ... just like Kanye."

People want acts that are timely and appreciate their fans? Start listening to Kpop. The fans rule. Case in point: members of Big Bang celebrated the release of new singles last year by hosting half-hour Q&As for fans (G-Dragon and TOP), working at a fan's job for an evening (Seungri), attending a late dinner at a fan's home (Taeyang, who brought presents, washed the dishes afterward, and sang one of his solos a capella), and escorting a female fan home from the bus stop at 11 at night (Daesung, who also literally carried her piggyback up the last set of stairs to her family's apartment, bought her snacks at a convenience store, and signed an autograph for the convenience store clerk). All of this was recorded and broadcast live.

Then there's Suga of BTS, who handwrote 300 post-its for his first fan event ON HIS BIRTHDAY. When 350 fans showed up, he got the names and addresses of those who went without and wrote 50 more. He spent his own money packaging this stuff too, including a sticker with a caricature he drew of himself. He and his bandmates wear cat's ears, jewelry and floral crowns fans bring to fansigns.

If anything, Kpop stars go too far to keep their fans happy.

Remember too that Prince was viewed by many to be quite a bit of a crackpot in mid-career. Albums that are revered in retrospect were considered to be sub-par. His concert performances were famously uneven with some legendary multi-set multi-encore blowouts, perfunctory phone-it-in performances, and diva-like cancellations. His "the artist formerly known as..." period was mocked mercilessly by the press and comedians, where now it is regarded by many to be the act of a misunderstood genius. Back in the day even Bill Maher named his "Get over yourself award" after the Prince symbol. In 2004 Prince had a tough time selling tickets to arena shows. In Nashville they were giving away tickets. The story was that Prince would play a few hits and walk off if he saw tiers of empty seats. At that point in time he was considered to be a has-been trying to get a few miles out of his hits from 20 years prior. Time would provide a perspective on Prince's talent and the depth and breadth of his accomplishments.

To QTR's point, Kanye West's infamous dissing of Taylor Swift was his turning point in the press and for so many. People who have never heard West's music know him for taking the mic from Swift. I believe that in a few decades that incident will also be regarded as the bold act of a misunderstood genius. Swift may have talent, but she is one of the most carefully produced artists we'll ever see - from her songs to her sound to her look to her public image Taylor Swift is one of the most painstakingly engineered processed products we've ever experienced. What Swift sells is a pretty, skinny white girl elevating bubble gum music to another level. It's amazing that the country music scene embraces her. For Kanye West to stand up at the VMAs and draw attention to the fact that that year's "best" went to such a shameless industry creation was too smart a move for many to comprehend. His observation earlier this year that his actions helped make Swift famous were also clever in a (IMO) masterfully irreverent way.

Swift also took unnecessary offense at comments made by Nicky Minaj who was, many believe, unjustifiably shut out of VMA awards because she isn't white, skinny and purveying mainstram pap like Swift. Swift is certainly competent and likeable, but marketing herself and her personal life is her forte, not music or artistry.

I'm drifting a bit off topic, but...

I saw a clip of Taylor Swift performing one of her songs for the press with just a mic and an acoustic guitar. She sounded very good. What I hear of Swift's hits on the TV and the radio barely sounds like music, and her singing is so processed that it doesn't sound to me like a human voice. To me it's a shame that they've bled her abilities and talent out of her music. I'd like to see Swift paired with the equivalent of an Owen Bradley, someone with the skill to complement her songs and her voice rather than providing production that makes the song and the voice nearly irrelevant.

Case in point: MV for "Heartless."

No booty. No hoes. That is not West's thing; if anything, he is reacting against that kind of rap.

Also, he is frequently cited as an influence by K-poppers and K-hiphoppers who only care about the music, not personalities or personal morality. That's why Michael Jackson, all-around weirdo and suspected child molester, and Chris Brown, known abuser, are also often cited as musical and artistic influences.

Sorry, guys. Kanye West is an original who revolutionized hiphop in ways you would probably appreciate if he weren't so stuck on himself. Moreover, he has publicly supported openly bisexual hiphop artist Frank Ocean. And many of his tirades against fellow artists like Taylor Swift have a point that is undermined by the way and the circumstances under which he presents them

You want booty and hoes? Here's K-pop/K-hiphop artist, co-CEO of AOMG and Seattle native Jay Park:

(I like the song; it's the video I have a problem with.)

Then there's this, which other than the kind of vulgar "your ass will go up/your face will go down" I really like, both song and video:

No subtitles because the entire song is in English. The model in the video is Afro-Latina.

Don't get me wrong now. I like some of some of Kanye's songs. I mean the way he combines his voice with a synthesizer is brilliance. We just don't enough of that these days.

He does abuse the autotune a bit. So do many Kpop songs.

She's not untalented, just far too calculated.

I feel that way about Madonna sometimes too.

Kanye admitted to UCLA Medical Center for a psychiatric evaluation.

Yeah, I'm sure his managers are in desperation mode right about now. That little stint is going cost them their salaries along with X'mas bonuses.

Oh my god! What if it's serious? WHAT IF HE DIES???

Can you imagine the levels of grief?

Sweet Jesus-- it's worth at least six episodes on the Kardashian soap opera show! Never to be out done in showmanship, Kanye had to "Trump" Bruce-- can it be that they are both Republicans?

Peace,

I agree, but she does put an unusual amount of effort in putting her shows/concerts together. Big Prince fan, but I was disappointed the two times I saw him in person. I am not sure when arena shows started. My first arena show was Judy Garland at Boston Garden when I was a freshman in college in 1961.

Didn't he openly endorse Trump~?

I thought I read that recently~

Not to my knowledge, although I don't follow news other than through Twitter or listening to NPR while driving.

This might also be another example of fake news. There's a lot of it going around, all motivated by same thing as the Wells Fargo scandal: greed and corruption. Fake news produces more engagement and clicks, therefore bonuses, therefore people at Facebook are economically encouraged to facilitate it and no amount of preaching will change that until either incentives or human psychology change. Another thought courtesy of my awesome Twitter timeline.

None of my favorite shows were held at an arena, although Bowie at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, NY was pretty memorable.

Oh, the drama!

Kanye West will remain in the hospital over the Thanksgiving holiday, a source exclusively tells Us Weekly, and Kim Kardashian will be right there with him.

“Kanye will be in the hospital for Thanksgiving and isn’t leaving,” the insider tells Us, adding that his wife “has barely left his side.”

About a year and a half ago Michael Walters, who is a well know Dame Edna impersonator, posted this on his Facebook page. It was so good that I couldn't resist commenting, sharing and saving it. It captures the feeling I have always had about Kanye. Here it is, ENJOY!

"A friend of mine asked "will someone please explain Kanye West to me?"

I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try.

It's quite simple: He is a talentless, narcissistic schmuck who married into a family of narcissistic schmucks, who, in turn, had baby schmucks to whom the adult schmucks gave bad names. The family into which he married is renowned for being shameless fame whores. He was a perfect fit to join in their little side show.

His musical talent is that of a wharf rat jumping onto the keys of an untuned piano in a whorehouse at last call.

He has managed to attain some degree of schmuckdom in pop culture by offending every person who crosses his path with inane rap music and indescribable ego. That ego has given him a platform. He uses it to promote absolutely nothing of value. Sadly, his fans find value in the nothing he's promoting, so, he continues to be given this public platform to spew inanity.

To explain the record number of Grammys he has attained for his "music", you have to look no further than the sound byte obsessed, pop culture bottom feeding public - who embrace stupid, talentless people and place them on pedestals where they are worshipped, celebrated and revered for absolutely nothing. Kanye West is not a celebrity. He is a walking indictment of the values of the depleted culture of this nation. Sad, isn't it?"
