"They have no idea what transgender is, and I wouldn't want that exposure forced on them," said Yeun Pearrelli, who has children ages 5 and 9 attending programs at New City. "I wouldn't think that should be something I have to worry about."

I have a friend that is currently in transition from male to female. Oddly enough, he wants a female lover after surgery is complete.

Probably that there's nothing wrong or obscene with being transgendered. What should he have thought?

I've never heard of this type group having an affair at A YMCA.

The director must have been nuts to approve it originally.

A little more info on the rental agreement. According to one follow-up article I read, the facility was rented to the transgender group until 8:00 a.m. But, the same facilities were also rented for a swin meet beginning at 7:00 a.m.

 

Probably wouldn't have been a problem if two different groups were rented the same, single space.

 

I'm sure this has been a difficult situation for the transgendered group. Not a situation they'd knowingly participate in.
