From what I understand it's from AIDS related complications. It's a reminder that despite all the medical advances, AIDS still takes lives.

She also had some bad drug addictions at one time. I wonder if she beat that or it might've been complicated by that past.

An MD friend of mine says he's seen some patients who found the side effects of meds so awful they just went off them and let AIDS happen.
