When I visited a massage guy, he offered a shower and douche. It was attached to a flex hose in his shower. I wanted to use it but didn’t.

Is using someone else’s douche safe?

It's safe as long as it's been cleaned and disinfected. The only major risk would be for Hep C I would say, which can survive outside the body for up to 4 days. HIV would be a minor risk, as it only can live outside the body for a couple hours.

Thanks Lance, I was about to say 'yes, it is safe' but hesitated because of the specifics you cited, of which I wasn't sure. One would hope that in that situation the equipment would have been sterilised.

The research that indicated a maximum 4-day viability of Hep C on surfaces has been superseded by later research indicating it can survive up to four weeks outside the body: http://www.cdc.gov/hepatitis/hcv/cfaq.htm

Panic not! Both HIV and HEP-C have an aversion to simple soap and water. Like a bottom, The wand should be squeaky clean. (I think I just confused myself)

Personally, I wouldn't.

Nonetheless, I think the risk is minimal, especially if it's been cleaned well.

I would however love to have a dude instruct and help me in the use of shower douche....

it's a little daunting for a top who's a bottom noob.
