How did they arrive without waking you up? Didn't they have to knock on the door or ring a doorbell? Or was the door left unlocked all night?

One of the other guys already in my bed got up and answered the in-house phone from the desk man to let them in.

 

But, in truth, the desk men for the building already knew to let in any criminal contingent that asked for my apartment. And did so.

PS...I had freshly baked empanadas today. Sitting here in Buenos Aires getting sleepy.

I didn't sample the local empanadas in BsAs (or elsewhere in the country), to my continued regret. As an aside, on event days at the Olympic Stadium in Sydney, along the walk from the station to the stadium there are a couple of rows of white 'tents' selling various 'street' foods. Frequently they include empanada stands, although usually tagged as Brazilian rather than Argentinian. There's a lot to be said for ethnic food tents or food trucks!
