Maybe this belongs in the FAQ section...

 

I am in Portland, OR at the moment. And just spent a little time at Stag. www.stagpdx.com

 

Nice location in the Pearl district. Very convenient to where I am staying. Just a few blocks' walk.

 

It's Wednesday which is amateur night and there were a couple of amateurs plus what I presume are their regular dancers. About a dozen in all. Mostly bigger, muscular guys. But one very cute twink-ish boy.

 

My ginger ale was just $2. I don't know about other drinks. In addition to the stripper section they have another room which was karaoke tonight.

 

There was a decent crowd for midweek. The dancers mostly seemed to be getting a lot of tips. They basically dance in their underwear and pull them down in the back to show their butts. A couple also show the front but not everyone. Apparently there is an opportunity for more "intimate" dances. One guy offered to me (nice guy from Brazil) but I wasn't really interested. He said $20. I presume that is per song.

 

Not a lot of seating which I think was the biggest negative. For sure it's worth checking out if you're in town.

It's a good club, run by a lot of dancers who left Silverado. Fun lap dances, but they don't cross the line. One or two of the guys escorts, easily found online... and it's never the ones you want. It feels like a neighborhood bar with a lot of hot guys in underwear. It's well lit, mixed crowd. I've seen several Sean Cody guys there.

i didn't really like Stag when I was up there a couple months ago. The guys I found were way to over muscled and very very straight. The bar itself like noted above is more like a neighborhood bar that has some pseudo dancers vs. a strip club.

 

Silverado had a better array of men to choose from and the dancers were much friendlier.

I prefer Silverado to Stag. You can spend a couple hours in Stag and not see a single penis, and there are usually lots of straight girls in the club for the straight dancers to be preoccupied by. The vibe at Stag is weird: a straight bar with male gogo dancers that tolerates its gay patrons. Silverado is more of a gay strip club catering to queer clientele.

My favorite local stripper, Alan, made the move from Silverado to Stag, but he's the only reason I go there- about three trips to Silverado to each Stag visit. Look for a white Toyota Supra out front, Alan is working that night- he's not afraid to drop trou and can do some amazing things with his gonads!

Silverado is my preference, too. And, I think it's worth the extra $$ to go upstairs rather that stay on the main floor.

Silverado looks horrible. Makes me appreciate the spots in NYC despite their flaws.

Silverado is really not horrible. It's far from being the worst place I've been. I think they could definitely improve their bar staff and table servers. But the facilities are OK and it doesn't bother me to go there.

 

Stag just doesn't seem that gay friendly.
