Pornography actresses and related entertainers were apparently the first to undergo the anal bleaching process, in an effort to lighten the colour of their anuses to match the rest of their skin,[1] although it has been suggested by Kristina Rose that this is not the case.[2] As Brazilian waxing became popular, due to the popularity of smaller swimsuits and lingerie, the spread of pornography into the mainstream and endorsement of the procedure by celebrities,[3] women began noticing that their anuses were darker than the rest of their skin.[1] The increase in the number of women engaging in anal sex has also contributed to women's concern over the appearance of their anus.[1] To combat this perceived problem, genital bleaching began to gain mainstream appeal.[2] Men, primarily homosexual, also make use of this procedure.[4][5]

 

 

The procedure was briefly shown in 2004 near the end of an episode Cosmetic Surgery Live.[6] One salon that performed the procedure received an increase in queries in 2005 attributed to an episode of Dr. 90210 on E!, when porn star Tabitha Stevens was filmed having her anus bleached.[5] It garnered several mentions in movies such as Brüno,[7] and Bridesmaids,[1] and in magazines.[1][4]

 

 

The treatment was apparently first offered in the US in California in 2005; it was reported to be available at the same time in Australia.[5] Spas outside of Hollywood were slow to begin offering it as a beauty treatment, with just one New York spa offering the service by 2007.[8] Creams are now sold for use at home,[9] and genital lightening is offered as a laser-based treatment in cosmetic surgery centers.[citation needed] Although the popularity of anal bleaching has not approached that of Brazilian waxing, it has garnered mainstream recognition over the past several years.[2]

By the way, one of my girlfriends had it done. Every anus is different, but she got strictures that made difficult bowel movement and tears in her love canal. Sorry, boys, but y'all gonna have to deal with my brown sugar culito just as is.

Does anal bleaching hurt?

Yes! It is ultimately an acid-based treatment. Most spas conduct a Brazilian first (removes hair) and then apply the bleaching. Then you are given creams to take home. The goal is to have your hole turn pink in the center and the rest of the skin around to match the color of your ass cheeks. Some folks just tend to have a real discrepancy in skin color between their hole and their cheeks, so they can end up using the creams for several days. That's what happened to my girlfriend and I believe that's what lead to her issues (probably based on chemical burn). She has a very pretty hole, but there was hell to pay in suffering and comfort.

 

My vote: skip it unless your hole is being featured in film and well-remunerated for it. Even then, I still think the skin was meant to be that color for a reason. Leave it the fuck alone! :) If someone wants my hole to look like that, I'd tell them to close their eyes and imagine it so.

Now hands off my hole ( not literally of course!). That is the most sensitive part of my anatomy & I'm very attached to it! I'm with True on this one - no bleach is gonna get anywhere near my derrière & besides I've had no complaints about it so far!
