Yes. It's OK to ask. There are not any documents out there that signify whether or not one is trained and experienced in a particular practice. Of course you can ask. So a few things,

 

I have been fisting for 11 years and I won't let someone fist me unless they are experienced OR they are a client that I have a very good relationship with.
