And by the way, has anybody heard from @seaboy4hire? I've been sending weekly PMs, but have no responses.

There was a thread about this a few days ago.

He posted a link to his Facebook account. But he hasn't posted on FB in four days.

Wish he would post an update here. I'm concerned.

I made it through the acute hospitalization ok, save one night of just uncontrolled pain. Acute rehab has been a three circus, but I leave today to go home.

My pain quality was my biggest concern preop. The magnitude is way more than I'd reckoned, but not excessive, and improving everyday

Thanks for all the well wishes!

Truereview posted an update on the Seaboy thread.

How about you, @LADoug1 ? How are things?

I'm about to finish my first 6 rounds of chemotherapy. Then I will prepare for a stem cell transplant. So far I am coping fairly well with the side effects. Thank you SO much for asking!

A follow-up:

I had decreased range of motion preoperatively, so getting my knee to fully flex and fully extend is proving to be a major undertaking. Pain control is moderate: Survivable, but it could be better.

I started with Physical Therapy this week. This will be a long haul, but when i can change my drugs around, I'll feel much better.

With a history of pulmonary embolism, they've had me on Eliquis. Note to all: Xarelto appears to have a higher complication rate than Eliquis over all.

The Orthopod wanted me on Celebrex, but I'm allergic to bactrim, so that's right out. And I can't take the other NSAIDs for increased bleeding risk.

@Rudynate: None of my business, but why do they have you on shots? The modern oral anticoagulants are so good. Unless, of course, it's a price issue.

I hope your keeping up with your Lovenox. DVT's are no fun. I just had DVT #5 and am on twice daily shots of Lovenox for a month.

I'm on xarelto for prophylaxis and the hemo gave me the option of a higher dose of xarelto for three weeks or four weeks of Lovenox. I was more comfortable with the Lovenox option. Lovenox (enoxaparin) is not inexpensive - full retail is close to $1K for the four weeks vs. $250.00 for xarelto x 3 weeks.
