At age 35 my stats were as follows:

Height 6’

Weight 147

Waist 33

Bicep 11¾

After working out for a year (6 day a week) my stats were as follows:

Height 6’

Weight 185

Waist 32

Bicep 14

After two cycles of steroids and working out for two years more my stats were as follows:

Height 6’

Weight 217

Waist 32

Bicep 18¾

For the next ten years I maintained those stats working out but not doing additional steroids.

My point here is that one uses steroids to put on size. Once that size is achieved one can maintain it without taking additional steroids as long as one continues to work out six days a week with heavy weights. In my mid 50’s I stopped working out and guess what my weight remained the same BUT muscle disappeared and was replaced by fat. At 61 I went on a crash diet and stabilized my weight at 185.

To this day I have absolutely NO regrets taking the steroids. I achieved the look I had always wanted all my life. Then when I got tired of the heavy workouts I stopped again without any regrets. The real drug villains of bodybuilding are NOT steroids but rather growth hormones and pituitary extracts

Don't be so quick to condemn Human Growth Hormone (HGH) - when used under a physician's care (and NOT abused by body building Nazis) it has some wonderful properties, not the least of which being that is is a great adjunct in promoting healing after injuries, esp. fractures and surgeries. It is especially useful in hormone replacement therapy when the patient has a low level (a helluva lot more common in "older" people than you might think). It will not reverse the aging process but will slow it down. There are few side effects and they are reversible by cessation.

Anabolic steroids, on the other hand, are well-known to have major side effects, some reversible, some not: high blood pressure, heart attacks, strokes, liver disease. Reversible side effects do include decreased sperm count, testicular size, acne and "man breasts" (gynecomastia). There is also the risk of "roid rage" and when discontinuing, withdrawal and depression. Some of these side effects are most common when there is pyramiding.

It sounds as if you did not abuse them as most people do. Some preparations are more known for side effects than others.

In defense of steroids its the worst kept secret in adult entertainment and its WHY you find so many model as attractive as you do. I remember sitting at a daddy's meet up where someone commented on an escorts use of roids and to keep it up because he looked great.

I'm not a big fan of the "roid" look, but I agree with you 100%. I have a good friend who did the same thing as you in his late twenties. He did a couple rounds of steroids, put on some impressive mass, and to this day has a beautiful muscular body that reels in men 20 years younger than him.

I considered doing a couple of rounds - - even at this late age - - until I really talked it through with someone who was well-informed. I still think it is safe, or at least a reasonable risk, but it is much much more complicated than I thought. Cycling on and off properly is not for the uninformed!

If you have any preexisting thyroid issues don't use roids, I did and got huge but felt like I had the flu every day for a year. I am 30LB lighter now and I would rather be skinner and healthy than as sick as I used to be

steroids in moderation or under a doc supervision seem ok

just that most folks can't do them in moderation. and they end up looking rough because of it
