Getting back to the original purpose of this thread as proposed by the original poster, may I emphasize that this is a great idea and that I hope that we New Yorkers will not make the process any more complicated than it need be.

Relative newbie here. I'm in Philly and will be in in NYC the end of this month to meet up with a provider. Had hoped that I could make another visit when @Eric Hassan's suggested get-together occurred.

Though I'm typically a wallflower and it seems to me that all of you know each other so well that there'd be no need for me to remove myself from said wall.

I'm thinking no.

@philly cheese - I identify with how you feel about being a wall flower, but if the circumstances are right, I highly recommend you don't pass up the opportunity to meet folks in person. I have a funny feeling a few folks will chime in with great testimonials.

Just have a pot luck supper, and everyone just show up on the Great Lawn at Central Park !

 

The OP had asked for creative idea or suggestions. When i posted the comment above, I intended it to be an off-the-cuff funny but facetious reply.. however the more I thought about the suggestion, the clearer it looked as a good and viable option. As far as i know, picnic in the park has never been done for a meat-n-greet. What better place than in NYC to do this ? The only variable I can think of is WEATHER...

 

1) you can come and go freely without the confines of a structured event or timeframe.

2) there is plenty of room to move about freely, mix-n-mingle, and even possible have some private time (OH those Rambles)...

3) there is no meal in interrupt conversation

4) there is NO cost, other than the cost of the food you bring for yourself, or to Share.

5) there is no haggling over a check for the meal ("but he had a shrimp cocktail and I only had 2 diet cokes, so why do I have to pay the same?")

6) there is usually alot of Eye-Candy in the park. As well escorts can go shirtless (you know you want to), and clients can oogle them (you know you want to)

7) and its a Great place to get some Great pictures

 

I rest my case......

Love the idea @jjkrkwood ! I've enjoyed belvedere castle (views) or the great hill (wooded area). Great Lawn and Sheep Meadow tend to get way crowded in good days. Lol...now we will argue which picnic spot

I've been watching this thread and I REALLY like the idea of a potluck picnic in the park. The weather might interfere, but we could plan on a Saturday afternoon with Sunday as a "rain date." Unless anyone has an objection or something else, I will go ahead and plan for this. And I'm a good cook who will happily feed all of you ;)

@FreshFluff ..always so thoughtful. Great Hill has picnic tables and public restrooms plus there is wheelchair access - should anyone need it. Below is a map for access. Probably not as popular as the rambles and other locations, but it may be easier to access for some folks. Just a suggestion! :)

but I heard foot traffic is heavy there and lots of cops watching, do people even use the rambles for sex anymore o_O

I will admit to not ever have ventured in that part of Central Park's entertainment area. I probably missed a lot of fun, but I'm deathly afraid of bugs, plus my hair gets all frizzy outdoors ( I plan to bring my mu mu & hairnet to the picnic). I might even bring a soccer ball if anyone is game. I'm sure we will hear about the final location via PM or email so that we don't have our location publicly displayed for bashers or crashers.
