Texted Boylegacy to see if he was available. He responded back that he was, but then asked my age and if I were neg. Thought this was strange as he indicates 'safe' on his profile, and that's one of the reasons why I contacted him. I responded back with my age (47) and status (undetectable). Then felt silly for even responding back.. it's not like I was looking for unsafe. Anyway, he never responded back. It's been a while since I experienced HIV shaming, but I guess it's still out there.

How is that strange ? I think that's a sign of respectability and concern for his health. Makes me want to hire him more. ( Although I have hired him and he's definitely worth every penny).

He never asked me those questions. I last hired him in March. Maybe something has happened to make him cautious? Not sure. I hope he doesn't think 47 is too old! That would be crazy.

I'm not sure how someone else deciding which risks they are comfortable and not comfortable taking with their body and their health equates to "shaming" another person.

 

While I don't wholeheartedly agree with the risk aversion strategy he seems to be using, I don't blame him for making his own decisions about his own health.

Given that this particular aspect of his strategy is likely to expose him to more risk I think it's reasonable to question it.

I'm dumbfounded! He never used that strategy on me or fellow posters I've referred him to.

Perhaps he just lost track of your text? I'm sorry for his (unintended?) impact on you.

@nycman, I agree with your point about shaming. Probably my own baggage from the past.

It is weird that he asked me my status and age. His profile says "safe", and that's how I prefer sex when I'm hiring, and that's one of the reasons I contacted him. Never brought up unsafe / BB etc.
