OK, so I listed a note about escorts in the Lauderdale area and got some nice advice although Branden Steele hasn't returned by inquiry :-( Anyhow, haven't been to FL in a number of years, staying at the Worthington, looking for suggestions, please I need you advice, for having a good time in a limited period of time. Of course Broadway, Alibi, Rosie's, etc but anyone have some suggestions as to "must do" bars. I use to hang out at Royal Palms during the day but heard that's gone straight, tooo bad. Looking for fun during the day and new things during evening. Thanks

I have worked in F Lauderdale for years and just went back on vacay this year. It has changed a TON. Lots of bars closed down and few new ones popping up. I don't dig the bar scene but did go to one across from Alibi's and down the road a ways that has a cover charge and is huge and loud. I forget what it's called but anyone would be able to tell you just by that description.

There used to be a handful of smaller venues that were more fun to hang out in but many have closed.

I like Lauderdale and am jealous that you're going.

It's a hike but Floppy Rooster in Miami is a great stripper bar. If you don't partake of private dancers/lap dancers, the show on stage is still good and the crowd is friendly. LeBoy & Boardwalk are more oriented toward pushing private sessions as Ft. L doesn't allow nude MALE dancing. I like Ramrod even though I'm not much into leather. It's a friendly crowd. As Eagle Bars close in major cities I'm glad there's still a slightly sleazy place that draws a crowd. You'll get groped a bit, more as compliment than anything offensive.

Some friends told me that had a ball at PJ's Cocktails, ab ar that caters to men of color & friends. I may try it if I get south once more before it gets too hot there.

Thanks everyone. I agree, the days of the plentiful gay bars, cruising bars, etc are over. I remember the fun in Key West at Atlantic Shores, the Lighthouse Court, etc; now gone or either straight. I really would like to bring back those days since it took me so long to be comfortable in a gay environment; where is there???
