I have a ? about Avatars...

Hi there this is Jack Lyons from Phoenix, Az.. I am trying to figure out this whole image hosting game... I have uploaded Avatars with success before.. but am trying out a new image hosting co. called omega images... when i try uploading it.. I am getting an error message "invalid Avatar Image" I am thinking it may be the hosting site (omega images).. I have used HP before, but they do not allow nude images to be posted on their site.. maybe someone knows of a good image hosting site for Avatars that actually work...

That's not a URL of an image file. It's the URL of a program that runs over there and coughs up an image into your browser.

 

That won't work as an avatar. It has to be a URL to an image file.

 

There are free hosting sites all over the internet. Just avoid things like this where instead of using links to individual files, it's a link to a script that runs.

I just realized you've got that same image on your own website.

 

Go to any pic you want to use as an avatar, right click, choose Properties, and see what's listed as a URL. It'll look something like this (without the spaces):

 

http: // www . jacklyons.net/images/whetever.jpg

 

Copy and paste that URL into the box here that asks for an avatar & you'll be all set.

Maybe this isn't quite in the spirit of your ?, but I think the absolute, all-time greatest avatar is the one used by Gringo. He frequently posts in the "Escorts South of the Border" room. After looking at his avatar, I only have two questions: was that done to him, and where can I get somebody to do that to me?

Deej, thanks for the crystal clear, simple directions on posting an avatar. Thanks to it, I have put myself up one which - to brag - comes from my own collection. (My high school mascot was the Thunderbird. And over the last couple of years, it's become a very important symbol to me.)

Well, deej, your reply exposing the gender of the bottom on Gringo's avatar was regrettably disillusioning but appreciated as being informative. I had tried to enlarge the avatar, but wasn't successful. In any case, female or not, it still prompts some wondering.
