If you have the ability to pull it off, I say go for it. What does she do if he won't stop or follows her off the elevator? Then it's a matter of calling the police, not the super.

The fact he didn't hit back at all despite plenty of time makes me think it's a scripted scene as opposed to actual surveillance video unless he was simply stoned out of his mind.
