He doesn't actually run that empire. It operates as a subsidiary of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA.

@rvwnsd i totally agree that he isn't only person running that conglomerate of a company Lvmh. But being the person that reshaped LV to what it is today is very much because of Marc.

Unfortunately companies that big look totally at lines on a budget sheet and not the artistic value of a designer. Example - Raf leaving Dior, Albert leaving Lanvin, Donna Karen leaving her brand and Slimane leaving ysl and on and on.

Getting an IPO for a company takes much more of a clearer vision then what Marc Jacobs international is now. Which is why they got rid of Marc by Marc and just has Marc Jacobs as a whole.

That being said, it's shows that he spent much more time on LV instead of nurturing his own brand. Let's hope now he can focus and make his mark!
