In another thread, someone mentioned houseboy.com. Their database seems somewhat under-populated. My "search entire nation" only returned 91 guys which isn't a lot.

Has anyone actually used this site? Is it for real? Is it worth a joining for a month or two? (If you joined, could you unjoin readily?)

Thanks in advance.

Oh, if there are no replies, I'll likely join and post my tale here eventually.

No.....I consider it a rip-off.

I joined for about 4 months and found that when I sent an e-mail to a boi looking to be a houseboi, that I would very, very rarely get a response. I sent about 30 e-mails to different guys, and had only two to respond. If you look closely, you will actually see alot ofd the guys on there are also listed on various sites as escorts in their "home" turf.

Too bad that there isn't a good site like this where we could actually find a current database of real bois who are really serious about a houseboi position.

In my mind, if the real purpose of the site is to assist you in finding a houseboy - why is it that the client pays a monthly fee?

Shouldn't it be the "houseboy" who pays as he is the one to benefit financially if a hook-up occurs (legit or otherwise)?

OK. I'll bite. :) The site is free for everyone to use and explore. In order to enlarge pics and to get access to live video feeds and the picture galleries, you have to pay a fee of $14.95 a month. That is a fee for the extra privaleges of the site. It is not a fee to find a houseboy.

I have met several nice guys on the site. However, it is not easy to find someone unless you have a picture on the site yourself and you are active on the site. That being said, there has not been a week that has gone by that some "houseboy" did not e-mail me asking to meet for a position.

I think the premise of the site is to allow houseboys and men to hook up. There are new guys on the site everyday and it is free to e-mail them and chat with them and communicate with them. It is like everything else, what you make of it is up to the effort you put into it.

There was a great article on houseboys in Details magazine a few months back. I'll look and see if it is on the web.

I haven't had the chance to see if it is on the web but it was May 2004 issue and Rob Lowe (what a hunk) was on the front cover. And the article title was THE SECRET LIVES OF HOUSEBOYS -- AND THE MEN WHO KEEP THEM by Mickey Rapkin.

About 2 1/2 years ago, after a dating dry spell, I used the site that ends in a "i", and I had several serious inquiries. I was actually about to connect with a few of them, when I met my current partner. I had a feeling that it would have worked out had I gone through with it. I'm sure that you will need to send a picture if you expect to get any serious responses. A potential houseboy will be no more interested in talking with you without your picture than you will be to talk with him without his picture. Many issues will be involved with the negotiation such as where you live, what you look like, what opportunities are in your area (maybe he's intersted in furthering his education, for example).

This one is occasionally lurking. Seems if I say too much here someone e-mails "you know who" to try to make something out of it. Don't need the hassle or trouble. It is hard enough for us to get past our pasts, without someone trying to make my comments here mean something they are not intended to mean.

BTW: I too thought the title was going to be about Sean.;)

Also, I glanced at one of the sites that Oz mentioned. Noted a picture of Escort/Porn Star Stonie there under a different name. Seems he is down on his luck and doesn't want to have to go back to his home in the South. I can't believe you LA guys can't take of that kid.

While I am at it...it is cool to see FFF and his wit return.

Now back to lurking before I get into trouble.:+
