I can always share my Hot Tapioca Bondage Enema Recipe and the Shortbreads that come as an after treat

You are trying to kill all chances of having a cooking and recipes topic, aren't you?

Oh, just curious: do you use the large- or small-pearl tapioca?

Oh Yes, a cooking forum would be lovely, as long as its mandatory that cooking be done with a minimum of clothing.

Thank God all these guys are hairless, can you imagine what you would find in your whipped cream or omelette if they weren't hairless?

The parsnip agrees.

Where does one begin with the peeler?

In all seriousness, I tried epicurious's Root Beer Cake recipe a couple of weeks ago. it's a fair amount of work and has some difficult-to-find ingredients (sassafras bark? I was calling all over the city) but it's my new favorite. My second try at it is sitting on my counter right now to bring to a friend tonight.

What is this root beer cake you speak of? It has two of my favorite things in the title. Root Beer and Cake!

this is it...

Like I said, it's a bit more complicated than your average cake recipe, but it's very good. Actual root beer in the batter, and a mix of spices in the glaze that give it a root beer taste. I found it through an article where people were discussing things they hated about recipes and someone mentioned a root beer cake recipe that failed to mention you should use a cake pan with high sides, because the root beer and baking soda made the cake foam up & rise pretty high while baking, and it overflowed her pan. One google search later...

Lord knows I've tried my best to nudge us there. :confused:I've started topics on pot roast, scrambled eggs, chili, and maybe one or two others over the last few years.

This has to be the most complicated cake recipe I have ever seen. Thank you for sharing. Did you use like an angel food cake pan or what type of pan did you use when you made it?

Speaking of which, I was thinking about the ground turkey thread the other day. I was making chili and while browning the turkey I thought "hmm...what about a little Maggi?" Maggi is similar to soy sauce, but it is made from wheat. It and some garlic gave the turkey a nice flavor.

I used a regular 9" cake pan, but I have one with higher sides than my others so I used that.

My mother had cake pans in two parts where the bottom slipped into the sides. I know I'm doing a crappy job of explaining that, maybe this picture will help.

It makes it SO much easier to get the cake out of the pan after baking, but they are surprisingly difficult to find these days. I ended up with the "high side" one simply because it's the only pan of that type I could find when I wanted a third cake pan.
