Woman honors her late husband with photoshopped photos.

Nicole Bennett is due to give birth to her second child later this month, but her husband Deonta unexpectedly died a few months ago. In order to honor the father of her children, Bennett decided to Photoshop him in to her now-viral Jackson, Mississippi, maternity shoot, KSWO reports.

Photographer Sidney Conley told KSWO he wanted to do everything he could to make Bennett happy: "I wanted her to look at the images and drop her jaw." He positioned each photo so that he'd be able to add Deonta to it later on.

Though she adores the pictures, she is happier to have them to show her son when he asks about his father: "It's memories for my son of his father and for my daughter who will never meet her father," she told ABC News. "It's memories for her as well."

I hope it brings them all comfort. Life is a hard road to travel, I believe. Moments like this put all of my petty, little worries to shame.

Reminds me of this previous post.

And this other thread: "Life once removed..."

Life once removed: loneliness, and a woman creating a family with mannequins.

Have we ever felt this way? Does this apply to some forum members every now and then?

He looks more like a Ghost.

yeah, wondering if the ghost-like look is intentional.....also wondering about the black-and-white thing.......

otherwise, this is nice.....reminds me of the meshing they did several years ago with the voices of Nat King and Natalie Cole

I can't wait till they come up with the technology to create a virtual reality of long lost people in your life like a holodeck. You'd never have to miss anyone again. In between your porn fantasies of coarse. :)

Seriously, I've never lost anyone really close to me but I know it's coming up. I can see how something like that would be very comforting.

Caliguy, you can miss people while they are alive as easily as when they have passed. Videos and pictures help but never replace them. They stay the same and you change. My wife died more than a decade ago and I have only fond memories of our time together and I still love her deeply, it is easy for me to believe that would be true is she was alive, but who knows. People change, times change, life changes and what I hope would be true might not be so.

I do think the ghost like quality is intentional. He is there in spirit and he has a spirit like appearance. This is a representation of how she sees her interaction with the memory of her husband and not an attempt to create a false existence. Or so it seems to me.

Exactly, maybe it's a way to say he's still around watching out for them as a spiritual presence.

I hope it gives her comfort and helps her with the grieving process. I also hope that she has some REAL pictures of her husband she can show her child. That's the reality and I hope it is beautiful. The photoshopped pictures are fantasy and I'm not certain how her child will react to it.
