I suppose ABC is going with a stereotype night. The Real O'Neals The Goldbergs and blackish. What is next? 7 Brides for 7 Guidos?

They are bringing back "Everybody Loves Raymond"?

I wouldn't exactly call Black-ish stereotypical. It's more of a mashup of shows like Sanford and Son and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air crossed with sometimes clueless parents (Dre especially) and kids (Junior especially) who other than on the basis of appearance are indistinguishable from their white peers.

Yes, I watch and enjoy Black-ish. No, I'm not interested in the other shows that night.

If you want stereotypical, watch Fresh Off the Boat....

Yes, because a less-than-thin hiphop-loving non-geeky slacker like Eddie Huang is such an Asian stereotype.

Other characters are "stereotypical" in the way comedy often plays off stereotypes, but I see a lot of myself Jessica Huang even though my Asian forebears on my dad's side are Korean, not Chinese. It's not for everyone, though, not even Asian-Americans. Someone I know whose mom is Chinese doesn't relate to it, but watches shows like The 100 that I have no interest in.

Eddie and Grandma are anti-Asians, but the others pander to the image other ethnic groups have of Asians.... Should I add that the oldest, frailest Asain woman will unapologetically knock you over on a NY subway to get a seat. (then pretend not to speak English)
