Excuse me for being stupid but I don't understand what the purpose is of a fake ad. I understand that fake pics can bring clients that can be fooled or intimidated into going forward when the person is not the one in the ad, but there also seem to be ads that are never responded to by the escort. What's that about?

Stage fright? TINA memory disorder? Change of career on a site that leaves up old ads? So the ads are not necessarily fake, just unanswered.

N13, it's they who are stupid, not you. I'm sure there are a multitude of reasonings/motivations for placing fake ads but all of them are insane. No need to figure them all out, just learn to detect them so that you don't fall prey to mental illness. This forum helps one learn to investigate immensely with Google image searches, etc. When I find a fake I let him know that I know and I also report his ad to Rentmen. They've already shut down several fake ads based on reports of information that I've provided to them in the past couple of months.

P.S. One sure-fire sign that it's definitely a fake is if when you question the guy nicely about the legitimacy of his pics/info and he goes ballistic then he's definitely a fake. Fakers are driven by guilt and the only way they know to ease the guilty feeling is to project it onto whoever catches them in their "crime". Or, it's also very likely that he will pull the vanishing act and you'll never hear from him again. That's my theory based on my experiences.

Maybe once you walk into his room he'll closed the door and ask for money...? Would you call the cops?

I've met guys who come reasonably close to the fake photo, but it is not really them. It bugs the heck out of me. I've also met guys who have photoshopped their pix to death making them look 15 years younger & 20-40 pounds lighter or more muscled. I've come to realize some of these guys view themselves that way, it is not meant to deceive, but their personal view of self is not realistic. :(

This is precisely why today, I stick with proven regulars and only try a few new guys throughout the year. Typically I do research on them. As a matter of fact, I have a review coming on a new guy, to me, who I found to be super cute & true to his pix and profile statements. Be on the look out for him...SpecialforU

Yup. Just about as useful as "clients" who book appointments and never show up. Neither makes sense to me.

I don't get that comparison. There could be lots of reasons why a client books an appointment and doesn't show up, many of them quite valid. Guys with fake photos and fake ads are completely different. There can be NO valid reason whatsoever for fake photos and fake ads.

Or was this just a chance to try and "bash" clients?

You're being too kind. Of course, they're trying to deceive. The problem is that they're not just deceiving potential clients. They're deceiving themselves as well.

You're absolutely right. No one with real photos would go ballistic. Everytime I've challenged a photo or asked to skype before meeting and the guys goes NUTS, I know he's fake. There should be no problem showing yourself on skype if you're real and want to do business.
