That's a ridiculous price. Even in Manhattan. Even for Maya Angelou's House.

It's still Harlem.....

Her Estate overpriced her other home in North carolina as well...and has already had to drop the price.

As you are no doubt aware, Harlem is among the hottest up and coming neighborhoods. It may be overpriced, but this is not a fire sale, and it is wise to have wiggle room in order to get the price you want,

It may be a little over-priced but the price is not that far off. It is a 5 bedroom brownstone in the Mount Morris Park Historic District with Marcus Garvey Park almost directly across the street. It needs a major renovation (new kitchen, baths) and the parlor floor needs to be restored. Consider though that this house would be at least 5 times the price if it were 30+ blocks south of its current location. About 3 years ago NPH paid $3.6 mil for a larger townhouse about 6 blocks further north in Hamilton Heights. While Angelou's townhouse is on a pretty tree-lined block made up almost exclusively of townhouses similar to hers, Patrick's is on a very commercial part of 5th Avenue with only a few townhouses left. Of course Neil, David and the kiddies can nip over to Applebees (two doors down in a taxpayer on the corner of 125th St) for a quick bite to eat so there is that added benefit?.
