In response to Daddy's recent posts, let me, for one, begin the thank you thread. I couple of years ago, I happened on this site and my life was changed remarkably. I've hired some escorts, learned the joy (and angst) of gay relationships at the ripe old age of 55!

I've made the "virtual acquaintance" of men whom I now miss (FFF, Devon, Les, Ethan and so on).

While I've made a few paltry contributions (three reviews, and a handful of posts), I've gotten far more out of the site (recommendations for wonderful escorts (and some not so good), and a few warm private emails from fellow contributors.) Some day, I may even get to one of the LA Numbers meetings and see in person my internet colleagues.

I once had a session with an escort who had spent time with HooBoy, and he confirmed how many hours HooBoy puts into this site. Yes, maybe he makes his livelihood from it, I really don't know. I appreciate, however, that; whether profitable or not, HooBoy, Daddy, Deej and the rest have established something that was not there before, enables me to meet a group of people I otherwise would never have met, and provides an introduction to some great sex too!

So, in between complaining about banishments, thread movements, personal vitriol, let me, for one, saw sincerely, "Thanks." I hope, in future months, that the message board will regain the lively vigor, rancor and even hostility (restrained) of bygone times. I'd love to read FFF's remarkable prose again. Even Ethan's completely off the wall hostility is memorable. Nonetheless, the creator and moderators of this site deserve a sincere thanks from all of us.

You have no argument from me. Keeping M4M going is unquestionably difficult at times, a labor of love at times, and a real pain in the ass at times, too.

I've spent a great deal of time at M4M over the years, have met quite a few other posters, have learned from many who come here, and value it highly. If I didn't, I simply wouldn't be here.

My other thread notwithstanding, I certainly am willing to join the chorus and thank those who endeavor to keep M4M going -- and that's not just HB and Daddy, but the moderators, too. My concerns with the policies that the moderators implement have nothing whatsover to do with them as people. To a man, I like and respect each of them and value what they post here.

I think that this site is just much bigger than anyone ever imagined it could be. I don't think it could be successfully replicated. So, I also feel a debt of gratitude to all who make it available.

I also think it means different things to each of us. Some just find useful information and friendly communication. Others actually engage in mind-expanding debates...and depending on the personality involved, that debate can assume various levels of civility. Cognitive dissonance is a good thing...it is usually better with a measure of civility...but the different personalities involved make the debates on the site more interesting...it prevents the site from assuming a miopic personality.

Attacks seem superficially "personal" at times...but, given that most of us don't really know each other really well, I don't view the attacks as deeply personal. I view them as an attack against the logic or rationale as presented.

Anyway, thanks to all. This is an incredible site because of the organizers and the contributors alike. I thank you all...although I like some of you more than others...probably just because I think more like you than the others! Isn't that honest? But a sincere thank you to all!

Let me add my thanks to you guys too: Hoo, Daddy and Co., for a thankless job. My apology for not sending it more often. I am sensitive to the amount of email that you guys get and feel reluctant to add to the load. Even so, I am remiss in not shooting you a 'thank you' note now and then. I do try to show my appreciation by not 'tracking up the carpet too much' when I do visit.

It is a truism that you cannot please all of the people all of the time -- me included. It is easy to take this service and online environment for granted and I suspect that all of us 'visitors' do take it for granted much if not most of the time. I congratulate all of you on the patience that you exhibit most of the time. Surely you each posses a gene or two from the line of Jobe. And if on occasion you do engage in a little tit for tat I also appreciate the aggrivation and pent-up frustration that yearns for release. You are all better men than I whether by nature or nurture.

Thank you. :*

May I join in on the chorus also. I along with many others, seen and unseen, have found this site to be of unquestionable value. Value that even Hooboy himself might not fully understand.

The review section and the message center are both so helpful, we all know there are VERY few places where information can be freely exchanged regarding escorts, travel or almost anything else for that matter.

So Hooboy.....thank you for keeping this site going and active. I use it everyday and treasure the information it provides.

I couldn't agree more. He was quite unique and I miss his style. Too bad he ain't around any more.

Cant agree there. I found him truly offensive and completly lacking in wit.

I too wish to thank Hooboy, Daddy, Deej et al. I do not post often, but this board has, for the last few years, made me feel like I have connected with all of you. I read the site every day I can when I am not travelling. Regardless of the rants, we come to know the people who are here - and for a guy who works and lives in a totally homophobic environment, it is the only connection I have.

I don't even post that often, for fear of saying something that might lead someone to identify me! So, to know that there are so many of you out there, real human beings with real feelings, who live lives freely, gives me hope. For many years, I have hired escorts in cities all over the world. I cannot even submit reviews, on the outside chance that someone would connect the date with the city where I was on that date.

This may seem strange, even pitiful to you. But, I have no choice for a change of career, which in all other respects is a very good one. So, I live a fine life, closeted for reasons beyond my control (if I was in my twenties, I could chose another career, but close to fifty, it is too late). But a fine life, filled with travel, meeting top shelf personalities from all over the world - and great joy from reading all your posts.

I look forward to a free retirement - and so, you can imagine how I have enjoyed your threads on a good city to move to! Fort Lauderdale or some other city.

Thanks to all of you, I fell a great connection - and I thank Hooboy, the administrators and the contributors to this site. I am sure that I am not alone!

Gratefully,

To me this site is like a car wreck on the side of the road...its horrible to look at but you cant turn away!! If it were gone tomorrow I dont think I would lose any sleep.

I never imagined when I first started reading and posting here five years ago that I would end up finding a couple of close friends here--and I mean real friends, people whom I see in the flesh, not cyber friends. For that alone I have reason to thank Hooboy, Daddy and the moderators who have kept the site going. So even though I go through periods when I stop logging on because I am irritated or bored or have better things to do, I hope it survives and flourishes.

Well I too wish to add my small word of thanks to Hooboy and the group for this site. I can truthfully say this place has changed my life because I met my boyfriend from here in the Message Center (not from a review). He had announced in the MC that he was visiting KY, we met, the rest is history.

In addition, from the Message Center I also have met the Montreal gang, had some absolutely wonderful times there, and made new friendships with men I can actually relate to. Had the pleasure of making new friends from this site by invitation of Jackhammer to join his MC houseguests in Florida for a weekend, Great time. Got the pleasure of an evening in NYC with Cooper and Lucky, the Gaiety and Stella's (deeply missed by many I am sure). Had a memorable Day with Rick Munroe and Derek as NYC tour guides, not because of any review they had but from meeting them here in the MC. I could go on and on about the great experiences I have had through this site meeting posters, including the Hooville meetings in LA and Chicago. I guess I am one of the few people here that has actually had the <pleasure>, yes I do mean pleasure, of having dinner with Vahawk. Definitely not the guy many perceive of him from his comments here. I also have actually gotten one of those infamous HUGS from Chuck himself. All this and more from the Message Center gang and I haven't even mentioned the unbelievable times I had because of the fantastic guys I met from their Reviews posted here.

WOW, until I started listing some of my Hooboy moments I didn't even realize what a great addition this place has been to my life the last few years. So even as my life enters a new chapter I now really feel remiss for not having said THANKS to Hooboy and moderators before...Cheers and HUGS :+

Although I use the reviews extensively when choosing those with whom I wish to spend time, I have met some of the best because of their posts here in the Message Center. Several were not what I thought were my “type” originally, but because of the tone of their posts I was intrigued or piqued or even turned on. Nate Bruno for his thoughtful, humorous, and compassionate remarks; Jim (btmstudnyc) for his smartass comments; Aaron Scott for his often erotic contributions; Devon (SF now MA) for his art (really! I even bought a painting); “He who shall not be named because he’s now somebody’s BF” for his chatty, warm, and playful posts, to name just a few. None were men I would have chosen for their looks alone. Their contributions here made them people I wanted to meet and get to know just a little. And I’m so glad that I went against “type” to enjoy my time with them.

"Thank you" to HooBoy for providing a place for me to find these men.
