One thing, Charlie, that you must be careful about is when your doctor tells you your results are fine. You must always get a copy of your lab results or, at the very least, ask what the values are.

My doctor always gives me my numbers from every test he does, and explains what they mean and how they compare to the last time the test was done.

I am borderline Vitamin D deficient (based on lowest acceptable range, which still may be too low) and am now taking 2,000 IU of Kirkland (Costco) D3 once a day. Thankfully Vitamin D is less expensive than that other D, although I don't know how one would make comparisons anyway.
