This may have been brought up before. Hush on Allens Ave (which has numerous name changes over the years) closed when the building was put up for sale. I've wondered why the license hasn't been bought or transferred to anyone else? They had the only license in the City of Providence that permitted full nudity. Does anyone from our little state know why no one else has tried to move the venue?

I have no knowledge but I would guess it's a zoning issue. The license may be tied to the location, either explicitly with the license, or implicitly through regulations that that type of establishment needs to be X feet from any school/church/park/etc.

Thanks Sniper, that may be the issue. I recall a friend asking at another bar (Dark Lady, I think) about the g-string versus nude dancing & being told Pulse, later Hush, had a license OK'ing nudity. Maybe it was restricted to the neighborhood. That might explain why it hasn't transferred downtown. It's too bad though. The clubs are dying off, dancers might bring more patrons, including from SE Mass & maybe Boston.

Hey there, Hush became a gentlemens club. Which I think is unfair since we're full of them in that area. We need a club like Hush but with better management, I did talk with BuffDaddy (NYC's club) about doing a business in the area for male go go dancers. I'm very disappointed in the lack of them.

Xstatic in Springfield has been the XRoom at Mardi Gras for a couple of years. Overall it's a good place. Friendly with reasonably priced drinks and a good mixture of guys. Lots of straight guys and lots of Puerto Rican guys reflecting the local population.

Private dances are $20 for five minutes in curtained cubicles that provide a fair amount of privacy. There are female patrons only but the vibe is definitely gay. They also have drag shows and pornstars on weekends and special occasions.

I have never had any trouble finding dancers that are willing to meet up privately. The bar is in downtown Springfield which isn't the nicest area and the police presence is pretty heavy around closing time so I would advise taking a cab or Uber or designating a driver.

Compared to other similar establishments XRoom offers a good time in a friendly atmosphere with some hot guys. Not quite at the level of Swinging Richards in Atlanta but an excellent way to spend an evening in Springfield.

Providence is the best city in 'New England' to not only work in, but to party and eat it. Providence holds a dear place in my heart. Minus CBC, fuck that place!I worked for the owned for a week-- he's a major fucking creep. Aside from Fire and Ice, check out them river fires! Beautiful! The best gay pride of new england? You guessed it -- Providence. I'm sitting here sweating thinking of those years I lived in Worcester hopping on 140 every weekend to go party in providence. We used to have club blue in Worcester but that fell due to owners embezzling. I

f you want to see dicks just wait for pride. Or go over to Club Ego, anytime I went pee in that place someone was always right behinde me, following me in the bathroom, to just casually say there with his dick out. Oh the good ole days of working all of new england.

I was in Providence for 4 days last week. It's a great "small" city and the people there are fantastic. I highly recommend it.

They're truly not angry like MA and CT. It gives me a San antiono (river walk) and a little of New Orleans with how close the city is built together. I hope u had a blast in prov! !

I'm glad to hear Brian & country boy speak well of Providence. Until the last couple of years folks from Fall River/New Bedford/Cape Cod, Mass regularly patronized the clubs. Boston folks would hit a great restaurant on Federal Hill & then visit Tramps, later Twist/Pulse/Hush to enjoy the dancers. Providence had the monopoly on gay nude dancers. Maybe it's the internet, but none of Providence's bars draw crowds now, even on weekends. It's not like Boston where the rising real estate prices have forced them out of business. Let's hope a Swinging Richard's or Floppy Rooster type club brings people & money back to town.

when will they open a stripping bar again in Providence?

That's a good question. Probably it will happen if someone will give it another try.
