I've never read a rentmen review worth a damn, but I'm a crusty ole soul who doesn't use reviews. I am curious if any newbie clients use RM reviews to make a hiring decision.

I'm going to be in New York for two months mid year. I'm using RM as a research tool in planning who I would like to hire when I get there. If an escort only has one review I don't bother reading it, on the basis that it could have been written by his boyfriend. However if an escort has numerous reviews I read them as they are more likely to give me a feel for him. I then cross check with DR to see if there is any more information to be gleaned. However I think the biggest influence as to who I hire will be the contributions some escorts have made to these forums. There are several that by their words alone make me want to meet them (and the fact that they're cute). All this "research" is taking a lot of time. Good thing stalking isn't a criminal offence.

Welcome to the playpen, Mfox! Don't skimp on the "research" for 2 reasons: (1) you want to make the most compatible hiring decisions which lead to fun play dates AND (2) the build-up of anticipation is alot of fun. Some guys are sterile and boring in the preliminary communications, but there are others who know how to reel you in.

I'm now primarily writing reviews on Rentmen. Less information to fill out - do we really need to copy and paste all stats for an established guy? And the reviews publish in a day or two vs. weeks on DR. Unlike M4RN, I have more trust in the review process as RM does verify your phone number. You can also easily click on a reviewer handle and see everyone they have reviewed. If it's a first time reviewer, I'd probably ignore the review, but if they have a history of reviewing multiple reviews then I'll take them more to heart.

 

One improvement I would like to see Daddy make is the ability to see all the reviews of a particular reviewer. If I find a reviewer and I have similar tastes, interests, and reactions to a particular escort, I would like to see who else he reviewed since some of his other successful hires might intrigue me.

If the client could send one to several sites that would be good. But if I had to choose one site to send a review to, I'd choose here. I still think Daddy's is the most trustworthy site. Rentmen when they 1st started sent me an email saying they weren't going to print negative reviews. The idea was they wanted to start on a positive note. If that policy has changed, I'm glad.

I'm surprised no one has noted that there is a way to do this using a search engine. (I know it works with Google.) I don't remember the specifics, but think the description I followed is somewhere in the Daddy's Place subforum. It may even be a sticky!

 

It may not come up with absolutely every review under that name, but it will reveal most. Oftentimes that's enough to find the rest.

Here it is. It works fairly well. However if the reviewer has an extremely common 'handle' or a short one (three letters or less), it doesn't really work.

My process, in a rough order of reliability, is

1) Search these forums & daddysreviews for the advertised name

2) Check out the info on RM & M4RN/C4E - I don't believe much of what I read in RM reviews but I think some of the older C4E content is valid.

3) Google the name & phone number - this usually turns up any Backpage, Hourboy, GPScort, Asexyservice, escortfish, boytoy and lots of data aggregators.

Sometimes people use the same number for Twitter, Instagram, Blogger, tumblr, etc., professional (and, unfortunately, personal) pages. I've been surprised to find legitimate, different pics of the same person posted on different sites.

I've also found completely different pics mapped to the same phone number.

4) Google image search the pics - turns up both stolen pics as has been discussed & same guy switching names for some reason, but also additional info about a legitimate, non-scamming person.

Within the last 3 weeks I was about to hire someone and discovered a single, old pic on an old Jason Sparks page (with some other info about him). It was the same guy but knowing this bit of info made a difference.

Lastly, a gut check -too good to be true? Profiles & reviews that are weird in some of the ways described above or no reviews over a long period? Moves around the country in an odd sort of way? Is working out of a local jurisdiction I'd be wary of? Appears to be travelling with another person (repeat the process on the second companion). If all the pieces fit and make sense then I'll give him a jingle.

 

None of this kept me from meeting the meth user or the guy who talked on his cell 5 times during our appointment, but I think I've avoided the worst of it.

I have submitted a couple of reviews on Rentmen and I do read other reviews. Reviews are hard because as others have pointed out one person's good kisser is another persons smelly cat kisses. My Rentmen reviews have focused more on accuracy of the information, anything non sexual that stood out and I try to put one or two things in the review that I learned during the session that shows I actually met the person but not something that gives away anything about them personally. For example on the last guy I reviewed after I confirmed details and indicated I enjoyed myself, I noted he had a great underwear collection and I said he had 2 great pups. Nothing earth shattering but also not something that a friend would necessarily post.

 

I should add though that I get better reviews via private messaging on here when you ask for 411 or by hitting up fellow posters that appear to have similar tastes. I have also given my unsolicited advice to posters if I thought my experience would benefit them in choosing a companion. (in a non pushy nice way i should add).

i may be looking at it wrong but I haven't seen a new one since before Festivus. I had enjoyed reading the daily new reviews but when i go to the front page it hasn't had a new one in awhile. I thought perhaps they were over. No ill will intended i honestly thought they were done and I thought a couple others had commented. I had submitted a couple that weren't posted and figured that it just wasn't something that was done now. mybad

@Keith30309 - thank you! I know that site but as I suspected, I wasn't connecting the acronym with it.

 

@jeepo1 - if you go to the reviews page vs the front page (where all the EOY info is posted) the last reviews posted were from 12/25. I'm guessing [uSER=3940]@Daddy[/uSER] took a well deserved Christmas break -- and was also busy tallying the EOY. I expect the reviews will be back to being posted regularly in short order.

I don't want people to think my reviews are fake, but when you have reviews from people who live in places like Cody, Wyoming and Santa Fe and Lafayette, LA, they probably won't have seen many escorts come to their town, so they will be first-time reviewers and won't know where to post reviews to give me the best exposure and I didn't even know they were going to write reviews until they were already posted on other sites.

 

Cody, Wyoming? I was just in Wyo and have done Santa Fe on many occasions. Frontier land and Americas oldest city. All familiar territory to me

Here is the announcement of Daddy's hiatus (to us mere mortals known as a vacation). It was on December 28th; he posted reviews on Christmas (aka 12/25). Perhaps that is what is confusing people.

 

If the past is any guide, he'll be back and posting reviews around MLK Day. If you want to check, keep clicking until January comes up each year. (You can look for reviews under area, date, and name.)

In particular, people who were reluctant to post negative reviews will often be frank in private messages.
