So a few years ago, before I entered this world of hiring, I had an account on dating/hookup site dudesnude. I left the site because it seemed to always lead to nowhere. I would start a conversation with someone, and then after talking for a while, the conversations seemed to always stop before ever scheduling a meetup. Since entering this world, I started noticing that the majority of those guys were escorts. Was I missing something? I guess those conversations leaned nowhere cause I looking to do something for free. Just today, one of my final strews has a review!

Is this a know thing?

Although I have seen escorts among the dudesnude members, I do not think it is an escorting site. In fact, they do not allow advertising for commercial products and services.

I'm not saying it's an up front one. Grindr doesn't allow advertising, but just look at all those money emojis. I'm asking how much is done on the side. When I'm talking about guys that ended up being escorts, don't think im talking about the ones with six pack abs.

I would have thought the guys with 6 pack abs would be more likely to be escorts than the guys without. I mean why would the really good looking guys need a website or an app to hook up? They could find someone at a club or gym fairly easily, couldn't they?

Dudesnude is definitely not an escorting site:

Here is an extract from their FAQ:

reporting problem profiles and members

we are keen to identify and remove problem profiles on dudesnude. examples of profiles we like to hear about are:

  • profiles set up to send spam
  • profile set up to try to scam or defraud members out of money
  • profiles set up to market commercial products or services
  • profiles featuring content that is illegal

Now, that being said, I'm going to quote from somebody's profile who was reviewed here:

Into : Deep Prostate Massages with Full Load Release

I Volunteer 2 weeks a month as a Veterinarian Technician. I work with a senior dog rescue in SF. I also do foster care to take in puppies who need temporary homes. The love that you get back from saving a life is incredible. They know you saved their lives and they are so grateful. I wish only men would be as forgiving and loyal as puppies are.

I am a CMT so i travel two weeks a month massaging. I'm certified in Sports Therapy. But for gay guys i make it more fun with Nude Erotic and Deep Prostate. If I'm in your town I'm doing some Hot Rub and hope some Fun Play on the side.

That is about as explicit as I've seen.

I also was flirted at, and set up a date with somebody 10 days in advance with no mention of $$ at all. (Being a

part time student and full time tech worker with a partner who allows occasional boy's nights out, means I don't

get a lot of opportunity for outside fun and need to plan in advance). I had to cancel due to what I thought

was excrutiatingly bad food poisoning - having been up 3/4 of the night with diarrhea and vomiting - had to have

been norovirus since a housemate came down with exactly the same symptoms 36 hours later.

The fellow took it at as being blown off and never contacted me again, but later I noticed he had also been reviewed here.

That's the thing that gets me, I wasn't going for guys out of my league. In many ways that what got me into hiring. Going nowhere with guys there, made me say screw it, I'll go for a sure thing with guys I know are definitely out of my league.

Also don't get me wrong, I'm not saying these guys weren't fit. But they weren't cover models. I exercise and do alright for myself. It was that site in particular that seemed to get me no where.

On a side note-

I don't think I would have ever have hired or,if hired once, would have continued to hire if I could have done 'all right for myself'. Of course I never would have made the acquaintance of the Forum and it's members that way.

No, it isn't an escorting site. They will block your ip address if you are caught selling products.

It is possible that amongst people who use dudesnudes there are escorts and plumbers and make up artist and all sorts people. The same applies to bars and restaurants and coffee shops. That doesn't make Starbucks an escorting coffee shop, even if I have seen more hookers at a time at starbucks than at a whorehouse.

Wrong.

You forget the law of diminishing returns, and also the law of Fishing out of your league. All of us tend to feel attracted to people that are slightly out of our league. It is an evolutionary imperative. The guy with a six pack wants the guy with the eight pack but the guy with the eight pack wants the guy with the ten pack and the 12 incher and the CEO position. As men get more attractive and climb in the looks ladders they tend to get pickier and pickier and also tend to care more about what people think of their options, so more often than not the guys at the top of the ladder go without sex for long periods of time.

Some accept this as the unspoken burden of their station in life, some spend endless hours trying to find the elusive higher in the ladder hook up through grinder, scruff and the lot.

Some, Praise the Lordt! decide that marring their public personal fucking lesser people is just not justified, so they hire escorts.

You would be so shocked and perhaps a little less lonely if you realized how many people go without sex, simply because they can't fuck with the people they want.

Not to repeat what our esteemed @Juan Vancouver said, but just to give it a less stinging twist:

You give looks too much credit, Gman. Some of the shyest and/or sexually unconfident men I've met have been really good looking. They too need apps, sites, and escorting services to have sex. Some use apps/sites/escorts for many of the reasons Juan cited, but some do for the very fact that they just don't have "game" or they just are not wired to pick up folks any other way. And this doesn't count some of the younger ones that have grown up with social media as their sexual connection vehicle.

I do disagree with Juan that all of us tend to feel attracted to people out our league. For fucking, I'm actually attracted to escorts very different than me (typically guys who stimulate me emotionally or intellectually). Hence why I pay to interview a new companion. I want to ensure we blend well. Yes, if I'm paying, I want the looks too, but that's not my driver. In my dating life, looks are nice but not high on my list.

I won't discount that. But in general and the majority of the time, only guys that are good looking can make statements like, 'You give looks too much credit.' Being on the obverse side of the good looks coin, I know whereof I speak. It's bad enough if you are one of the less unattractive and straight. It might as well be the kiss of death if you are gay. I understand completely how less attractive straight (or gay) women feel surrounded by images they can never compete with.

I'm guessing there are very few guys who use dudesnude to get clients. There are escorts who have profiles on dudesnude, but if I hadn't seen their ads on escort sites I would not know they were escorts, as their DN profiles do not mention escorting.

I hadn't checked out dudesnude in a long time. I just scrolled through hundreds of profiles in my area. I definitely saw many guys I know to be current escorts and/or massage therapists, and I also saw guys whom I hired in the past but who haven't run ads in several years. In a few profiles, it was pretty clear that the guys were looking for work -- similar to the profile honcho quoted above. Most of the working guys' profiles, though, didn't mention work at all.

I've been thinking of another way an escort could be using a site like dudesnude, Marketing Research. I'm remember that that site ranked which pictures of your were click on the most, a great way to find out what pics to use in an ad. The more I'm remembering the site, the more I remember accounts that stated that they never read or replied to their messages, which I've always found strange.
