Hi there, does anyone know if the lovely Danniel Mannix still see clients in the Boston area? I lost touch with him for a couple of years and would love to reconnect. He was always very professional, manly and awesome.

I'm sorry, this one freaks me out! Irishman Daniel Mannix was the Catholic Archbishop of Melbourne from 1917 to 1963, and was intensely political, advocating successfully against conscription in WW1 amongst other things. Thinking of Danniel Mannix as an escort just doesn't work for me!!

But, that's why he chose to put in the extra N, lol. What he told me was that he was unaware of the Archbishop until after he had chosen Mannix as an escort name - and (I guess mostly for googling purposes) he changed the spelling of his first name.

I've seen him twice. Great guy.

How many people could possibly remember someone that obscure who was last in the news 52 years ago? Anyone? When I saw the name all I could think of was Mike Connors.

Someone who lives in Australia would have a better memory of Australian Archbishops than would someone who does not live there. I, for instance, remember John Cardinal Cody, the Archbishop of Chicago in the 1960's and 70's. Likewise, I know that Mundelein, IL was named for another Archbishop, Cardinal Mundelein. My guess is no one else has heard of them.

Sure. The Sun-Times's investigations of his extravagant spending, the dame, etc. made the national news there ca. 1981.

And the pics showing his fascination with lace undergarments. :D

I'm fairly sure I saw an ad for him reasonably recently-say around the time of Rentboy's demise. I think he had come out of retirement at the time. But currently I don't see an ad for him on Rentmen or M4RN.

Okay, that's almost as bad as the made up story of J. Edgar Hoover dressing up in women's clothes.

I'm willing to bet even most people in Australia under 50 years old have never heard of this Mannix guy.

Ok. So you never heard of him. Maybe many others haven't either. Why on earth does it matter?

I remember Cardinal Cody (being a good Presbyterian at the time ...) but I didn't know about Mundelein.

Wow, thank you everyone for the responses and the great and surprisingly funny info. The archbishop thing brings a whole new dimension to my past sessions with Mr. Mannix ;-)

Seriously?

That's really beyond the pale.

If we want to be respected and accepted ... well, I won't even go there.
