Hey Chuckster

I did see some cuties in the park Saturday while working :9

A friend of mine went to some of the parties and said they were pretty good...lots of hotties, he met the "amazing race" guy (Reisen?) I think that's who he said ...though he found the drug crowd to be somewhat overwhelming :(

Even though this year's trip for me was solo I still managed to have a good, though somewhat subdued time. I don't do the circuit parties of the week but here is my take.

Thursday: Mannequins was the place to be Thursday night of Gay Days. Crowd was so large I still had a 2 hour wait to get in, in the pouring rain, and I arrived at 9:30pm. Due to the rain they couldn't open the outside overflow and stopped the rotation of the dance floor due to the huge crowd. Mannequins was definitely the place for eye candy and the young crowd and I saw an Escort from Campus NYC standing in line with some friends.

Friday: Outlet Mall shopping during the day and Parliament House that night. Good crowd at PH and they had a great Drag Show. For those that have never been there. PH is an old motor hotel that is now billed as a Gay Resort. In addition to the Motel, they have a Drag Show Lounge, Video Bar, Dance Bar, 24 hour Restaurant, and during Gay Days 1 am Concerts on an outside pool stage and a foam party setup in the rear parking lot with food booths and "porn Stars". Go-go boys rotated between the 2 bars and the outside stage area.I was pleasantly surprised with PH and had a good time. Sammy, who has been mentioned several times in threads about Boardwalk in Ft Laurderdale, was one of the "Porn Stars" courtesy of Badpuppy. Also Lion's Mane had some guy's there. I actually found the "Porn Star" thing a little much and almost offensive with the way the "Handler's" were directing them about and telling them to do this or that and to take off this or that. So, I avoided that area the rest of the night, but the Sammy kid seemed to be enjoying his "star" status.

Saturday: Red Shirt day at the Magic Kingdom. Last Year there were many threats of religious protesters but this year I saw or heard none of that. I'd guess about 1/3 of the people at the park were wearing Red. I always find visiting the Park on this day to be a lot of fun if for no other reason than you are there with so much "family". In the past it is not uncommon to see Gay couples holding hands, this year there was much open kissing by the mostly younger guys. Not sure I agree that was appropiate (not sure it is appropiate for straight couples either) and saw a few kids staring at this. The Afternoon parade is always fun and this year as they had blocked off the streets before the parade started, 2 Drag Queens with parasols paraded up and down the street to the applause of many in the crowd. They were constantly posing for pictures with Red shirted guys and the Disney Staff seemed to be very accommodating to it all and only asked them to move from the street just as the parade started. Since they were getting so much attention I heard a small boy seated behind me ask "Mommy who are they?" I looked back and his mom smilled very big at me but never answered the poor kid even though he kept persistantly asking as kids do. After the end of the parade a group of 7-8 guys with each having a letter on their shirt that spelled G-A-Y D-A-Y-S-04 locked arms and marched behind the last float. Several red shirted folks took in behind them marching behind the parade. Several Disney Staff were between the last float and the group and one of the staff in particular kept looking back and smiling. The marchers stopped just as the parade started down the "Main Street". Saturday I headed back to Parliament House since I had enjoyed the previous night so much. The crowd had tripled and it was hard to move around the complex. I know many guys were headed to the Beach Ball Circuit Party that night.

Sunday: Was my day to chill, rest, and take in a movie before returning home, since I had been staying up way past my usual bedtime. I was staying at Marriott Village, close to Disney, and on Sunday there was a Lesbian "Pool Party" there in the afternoon at the Courtyard Hotel.

Well Chuck that is my take on things. Sorry no Escort stories like last year. In fact Kristian was very understanding when I had to cancel on him this year.

Thanks for the great report, KyTop. Glad you had a pretty good time even though you went solo. Looking forward to seeing you again in just over a month.

Got interesting feedback from Sammy about this as well. He actually ended up feeling much the same way that you did on your first impression. He said he really didn't feel like he was treated well, and that "being used" got old pretty fast. So he actually didn't return on the last day (Sunday).

Anyway... can't say any of this surprises me: that the "handler's" acted that way, that you found it disturbing, and that it eventually led to Sammy vanishing from sight. Pretty much in character for all involved. LOL

Out of coincidence, I was in Orlando during Gay Days...

Didn't really participate due to lack of funding and previous plans... (All of the parties and stuff are like 100$ to get in... too expensive for this boy)

I went to Orlando because my dad's birthday was June 4th (lol... I just thought it to be amazingly funny that his birthday fell Right smack in the middle of Gay Days). It was the first birthday of my dad's I have ever been to...(parents are divorced) -- Family doesn't really know I'm gay yet so...yeah.

Anyways, Back on topic... I managed to go to Parliament House on Sunday, Cover was 20$ (I think stars party was like 100-120$?)

But yeah, I had tons of fun that sunday...

Jaden, If you find yourself in Orlando next year for your Dad's Birthday during Gay Days, you should try to get to the Magic Kingdom on Redshirt Day (Saturday). I'm sure you will have a good time.

One thing I forgot to mention about Redshirt Day at the Magic Kingdom.

At the Hall Of President's while everyone was wanting to get into the Theatre. The host gave a short talk and mentioned President Bush which resulted in loud boos from the Redshirts in the crowd. The Host laughed and said "I didn't say they were real." I broke out laughing but noticed that many "non" Redshirted persons did not seem to be amused. Then at the end of the program when the Bush Mannequin spoke the Redshirts again started booing BUT a large group of non-Redshirts started cheering trying to drown them out.

Also, the talk of the Day was that Universal Studios Theme Park refused to participate in any Gay Day Events nor to let their Facilities be used or rented for any Gay Day Event.

LOL. I live in Tampa. So maybe I'll just not go to my dad's b-day and go there. (I wasn't even invited to his b-day, I just had never been able to go before so I thought I'd stop by and give him a present... just sorta showed up)
