For ANYONE in my area considering a first time hire OR anyone visiting NYC, I just want to give a heads up as a denizen and native; NO GOOD ever comes from ANY hire that begins with "I WENT UP TO THE BRONX..."

*fyi don't mean to demonize an entire Borough  but historically the boys up there use Manhattan John's as their ATM, pretty much xact what the reviewer recounted. And if you CAN'T resist a Bronx Boi, then schlepping up there is prolly the BETTER option as opposed bringing HIM into your apt or room, up there YOU at least have the opt to leave ;)

His Rentmen ad recently expired. He's probably contemplating which fake pix he'll use next.

From the review I gleaned the pics were actually him, I believe it was meant ala don't be fooled by how hot he is etc.

We ought to add that not only Harlem but now Washington Heights and Inwood are getting colonized by gay guys, of all races, in search of halfway affordable housing. (Which even rules out more and more of Harlem these days.) So by no means write them off -- you might very well find happy hunting up there.

However the Bronx remains pretty much a no-go zone.

(From a club in Wash Hts one time I brought home a guy who turned out to be living in a storage locker in the Bronx. We got to be good friends. But my philosophy that the lord looks after saints and fools is not everybody's cup of tea!)

Tony, reread both his reviews. On his DR review, description "NO". On his Rentmen review, are pix accurate "NO".

My take was he was using fake pix.

Yes I see that now thanks, but STILL not sure since it's ODD the reviewer didn't say right off the bat when he walked in it wasn't the same guy AND said that he left without a bit of erotic satisfaction which I took to mean that he would have LIKED that with the guy etc so it's a tad confusing o_O

It's worth noting that Rentmen has posted a negative review on his page. (I presume that this is the same reviewer)

Quite a few other sites which rely on ad revenue from service providers won't publish negative reviews, so I applaud Rentmen, at least for now.

I lived in Manhattan for 20 years (1970-1990.) No one EVER went up to the Bronx other than to see the Yankees play.

Fort Apache.

Even Bed-Sty in Brooklin (once the WORST neighborhood in ALL of New York City) has now been gentrified. Even the "death before Queens" stigma has now been lifted (the issue there having been a matter of taste rather than safety.) The Bronx, however, seems immune to improvement.

Doesn't it matter where in the Bronx, there are very nice places in the Bronx like Riverdale.

Yes, Riverdale is the great exception. I had a friend who lived there and taught at Horace Mann and another who also used to teach there--took the number 1 train everyday from Tribeca. Most people don't even know that Riverdale is in the Bronx. I am sure there are other good areas. My late friend Barry, the one who lived there, used to do a great impersonation of two ladies doing the "Grand Concourse Schlep." He could also recite "Friends, Romans, countrymen" with a Brooklyn accent, a Queens accent and a Bronx accent to demonstrate the differences.

Even so, very few people not living in the Bronx would journey there to meet up with an escort. I traveled to Brooklyn to do that once, but it was Park Slope.

Lived in the Bronx for 5 years. Met some of the gentlest, kindest least judgmental people ever. I never felt unsafe or threatened. Met some real hotties too. Granted, being in the DL is more prevalent there, but as you become part of the community fabric, it feels good to live there - at least for me. Would I wander into unknown, possibly dangerous parts of the Bronx at night? No, but I wouldn't do that in ANY neighborhood.

Now, back to some of the postings...do we know If Mr Maravilla swings our way? He sure is cute! :)

Don't know who actually showed up in the Bronx, but the instagram photos are of a dancer at Adonis by the name of Frank. I've seen him there - and he is way hot.

Now I have a reason to go to Adonis...

Hey...is Midtown East safe? ;)

I believe it's on the DL, not in the DL ....if you are referring to the famous but much maligned Down Low...If not I apologize and will go back to watching football.

normally I'm not a grammar snob but I did get concerned with this typo, thinking of some poor rube like me wondering through the Bronx asking nice people in the neighborhood if I was in the DL?
