Jake

Yes, and I personally think he looks better in wet clothing than shirtless, but then again, I also think that Marine looks like a little girl playing dress up in her brother's clothes, so I am sure my opinions mark me in the minority among this crowd.

Oh my. Jake is so freakin' hot...

I still wish he took over 'Spiderman' when Tobey Maguire pulled a muscle (or a money hissy-fit as some said) and walked out. Jake had the part for all of two days when Tobey 'got better' and reclaimed the part without a raise in salary. It was obvious that the studio thought the movie could survive without Maguire as the Spider.

Jake would have brought so much more to the role. 'Donnie Darko' only proved that his acting chops are just as impressive as his well-toned stomach. *grin*

This is quickly turning into a 'TigerBeat' obsession on my part. I must soon tune into the NBA Finals before i totally become a 12yo little girl.

Warmest Always,

And that means what as far as acting ability goes?

It is even more OBVIOUS, that the studio, KNEW that the fans wanted to see Toby Maguire return in the role! Otherwise, they would have kept Jake for more than the 2 days of Toby's "hissy fit"! Just my personal take, but I prefer him returning in the Spiderman role, and a sequel without him as Spiderman, just doesn't fly! Glad to see the studio wised up and came to the same conclusion!

You should state the above as in your opinion, as I for one, disagree with this observation. Wow, a well-toned stomach alone, especially one andro enhanced, is DEFINITELY sufficient grounds to overthrow the entrenched actor, who's abilities defined the Spiderman role! NOT!!!, as once again it is Toby in the title role for the sequel! :) YEAH!!!

That pic of Jake Gyllenhaal is really sexy. He's wet and he's wearing black. I also thinks he looks good wearing light colors too. In the movie " Day After Tomorrow ", there is one scene that I somewhat remember vividly now. Jake is in the kitchen eating breakfast, whilst Sela Ward in on the phone and what caught my eye was the blue t-shirt that he was wearing. I thought the color looked good on him.

To change directions for a moment. The movie " Donnie Darko " was mentioned in a previous post. I also happen to think it was a really well thought out movie. From my point of view I thought Jake gave a really good performance. The first movie I saw that Jake had a part in was " October Sky ". I mainly was watching this particular film for Laura Dern and Chris Cooper. It was Jake's role that definitely caught my eye and I thought he did a pretty good job. Over the years he is one a few actors of his generation who has never stop working. Just the way Sir Michael Caine used to do, he continually went from one film project to another with relatively few breaks. Except with Mr Caine, he was never really considered a good actor by his peers. He always played the typical english cockney type roles until the last couple of years or so. I must say I'm a big fan of this legendary actor. Mr Gyllenhaal on the other hand is just starting to be taken seriously. His last few performances have been interesting ones to say the least. It certain ways he reminds of the late great James Cagney. Mr Cagney never turned down a role he was offered. His heydays were in the 1930's and 40's. He played virtually played every genre role that Hollywood had to offer at that time. He starred in gangster pictures, musicals, westerns, war epics. There were few actors who did what Mr Cagney attempted to do in those days.

With Jake, in a way I see him branching out into different genres. Whether he does well critically and commercially, only time will tell. Just my own opinion.
