That's great. I am glad you are doing it that way. I heard from one of the attendees at the DC luncheon that one of the escorts sitting at his table shamelessly ordered the most expensive entrée on the menu and then bragged about it. I could tell you who the escort is, but not yet. He ordered 'surf & turf' apparently. That is not only a sign of poor manners, it is not classy at all. But I am glad you are doing it differently in PS. Better to have everybody pay for their own meals, unless of course you are an escort and you are being hosted by a client. Thank you for clarifying that.

Baron, re the DC gathering, see leigh.bess.toad’s straightforward explanation below that clients are viewed as the hosts and escorts viewed as their guests. I’ve never attended, but I’d assume that’s the standard.

There were escorts who had clients during that time and there were escorts who came on their own (due both in part to the luncheon and MAL). Obviously the meals for escorts on a hire are covered by the client. But it has become standard that during group events, clients will step up and pitch in to cover all the food and drink for any escorts who are not with a client. This went for all the meals. I'm sure an occasional escort may have bought himself a drink at the bar, but not when in my sight they didn't. I view all these men as our guests and in my view, guests don't pay. Thanks to everyone who pitched in. It has been a tradition since we first started these events 2 years ago we have one problem with paying for things: people try to pay too much. It seems like we have to always re-distribute some of the money in the pot once the bill arrives because it would cause a ridiculous tip. As it was this year, the wait staff at the luncheon probably got about 40%. For the escorts who come on their own, they will pay for their own travel and lodging but frequently pick up hires while they are in town. It is such a good time that the attendees are more than happy to cover other expenses.

I apologize, in advance, for what I’m about to say if it offends anyone on this thread or on this site. Please let’s remember that Oliver started this thread about the 12th Annual Palm Springs Weekend. It was not intended to address the Washington D.C. Luncheon. These are two entirely different, unrelated events so PLEASE let’s limit this thread to the 12th Annual Palm Springs Weekend. I strongly recommend that someone initiate a separate thread regarding the D.C. Luncheon.

P.S. Yes Wolfer there are vegetarian options including mac & cheese,

Does Uber or Lyft opperate in the PS area? For everyones safety ( I am a g-d awful driver) it's best if I dont drive. No joke.

Hugs,

Greg

Greg, Uber does operate here in the valley, but I have never used it, so I can't provide any details.

There is actually a decent bus service.

Used it to get from my house to the airport this morning. Cost a whopping $1.25 with transfer.

Taxis can be pricey. It is $20 - $25 to the airport from my house by taxi with tip. That's about 5 miles.

I've never used Uber or Lyft.

Once the events get closer for people without cars I can try to help arrange pooling if that will help, at least to events like the dinners and party. It's California so there will be lots of cars.

I may spend that Fri and Mon in LA visiting family and friends. It's cheaper to fly into LAX than PS. If I do that then I will prob be taking the train or *gasp*, bus into town.

Greg

As the event draws closer, keep your travel details updated here. SOMEBODY will likely be driving down from LA and won't mind having your fabulous company.

Take Steven's comments about PS taxis to heart. Once you're in town with the rest of the crowd, avail yourself of the friendliness of your brethren.

Many years ago, on a flight out of PS, I accepted a voucher for taking a later flight. It was late and dark, so I booked at a hotel near the airport and took a taxi to get there. He charged me $25. Imagine my surprise the next morning. In the daylight I realized I could WALK to the airport.

Yep, I'm sure it will be great. It's still a case of I plan to be there not I will be there!

Opps. My mistake.. Sorry sweetie. Instead of saying you plan to come, let's make it to where - you will be there this coming year. :D.

Anything's possible if you put your mind and soul into it, sweetheart. ;).

Yes, and tell SOMEBODY to stop in Vegas and pick up Daddy. We missed her fabulous company last year too.

Oh, speaking of the famous and fabulous, I'm glad to hear you may be coming, Killian, Don't worry about the food. I'm sure the tasty food at restaurants like Trio will please you, almost as much as your delicious appearance will please us. But do worry about shoes. Since the moment Daddy posted that picture of you in Gucci high heels, I've been dying to borrow them from you, bitch.

LOL. Wow, Steven. Didn't know you and Killian had the same shoe size. News to me....

I offered to fly Daddy for next years event, but maybe I can talk him into a road trip at some point. Knowing what he mentioned to us, Steven during our visit with him in Vegas - I think he'll enjoy the car ride better. ;)

I was wondering if this tradition would continue. I am counting down the days. A quick bit of math comes up with 192 days, I better start packing.

I'm excited that you're coming here to Palm Springs :)

LOL--public transportation from LA to PS is almost non-existent. There is one train per day that drops you off in the middle of nowhere late at night, and there is no long distance bus station in PS. There should be other guests driving from LA, so you can probably find someone to give you a ride.

I'm excited that you're excited. :) I hope you'll be joining us for some or all of the festivities!

Wayne and I will definitely be attending, Saturday and Sunday. Wouldn't miss it for the world!

Thank you Rob! I would love to be part of this! I know I will be home those dates because I'm going to be competing in Los Angeles in early May, so I will be staying close to home :)

Likewise, Vin as I've been looking forward to meeting you for quite sometime after hearing a lot of great things about you from the forum members, clients and fellow escorts. Definitely be hot eye candy to drool over as seeing your hot body and all puts mine to shame. Better get my ass in the gym and FAST as I have 7 months to whip it into shape. LOL. You are nice guy, and extremely hot. Truly excited in meeting you there at the event, baby. :).

Keep in touch.....

Who said anything about public transport? I have family in LA and I am very familiar with getting around the area. There is bus service and train from LA and PS and vice versa.

I highly doubt anyone will be looking at the shoes, they're all yours. I usually don't let people I've never met before borrow my stuff, but, what the hell, if it makes you happy.

. I guess you guys do have the same shoe size. The shoes are yours after all, Steven as you heard the man. :).
