Count me in as well. I'll be in the kitchen on Sunday as usual.

 

Xafnndapp numerous posters and escorts attend; some posters bring escorts, some posters come stag as do some escorts. If I remember correctly the total number of attendees is rapidly approaching fifty. On Saturday evening everybody, both posters and escorts meets at a get acquainted dinner. This is a great opportunity to meet old friends and make new ones. After dinner individuals and groups go their own way to any number of bar and clubs. Early Sunday afternoon everybody gets together for a Pool Party which lasts the entire afternoon. At the party there is always tons of food and lots of liquid refreshments. This is (at least in my opinion) really the highlight of the weekend and a great social occasion where everybody relaxes and enjoys the beautiful weather, the company, the food and the drink. There is some nudity at the pool, however, at my age I keep my clothing on in public thank you. After the pool party breaks up everybody returns to where the are staying and then many of us clean up and go out to dinner for a last get together.

 

I have been attending this event now for ten or eleven years (I can never remember which) and wouldn't miss it. It is great experience to meeting with other crazies who enjoy our rather unusual hobby. I will soon post a list of possible place people might want to stay. The one recommendation I do make is that if you are planning to attend and there is a specific place you want to stay MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS EARLY.

So glad to hear your coming to the PS event next year as I know you'll have a wonderful experience. As you know, last year was my 1st year attending along with Miss Coco, and we had a BLAST. The weekend of our get together is also the Annual Stagecoach Festival Weekend. It is a music festival held in Indio but the hotels in Palm Springs fill up quickly. I would suggest that you book early (like now) if you think you might attend and then cancel latter if your plans change.

As the person who collected the money at the DC luncheon last year, most clients were generous and one or two of the escorts insisted on paying a portion. Unless the escort was insistent, I turned down the escorts and accepted from the clients. In the end, the money collected equalled the bill and a small tip. I added some money to bring the tip up to snuff and a few other clients added a few extra dollars once it was clear that money for the tip . All told, the luncheon cost for the average client was about $60.

There was a long discussion on the board about whether or not an unaccompanied escort should pay for his own lunch. It had been a tradition that the clients pay and at the last DC, it was presented that the client could pay for himself (and any guests) and additional funds were accepted. I would say that no one spent more than $100 for lunch. Only one or two clients paid only for themselves. Most were willing to be more generous than needed.

I am hopeful that someone will try and organize the DC luncheon for January. I would be will to help out but as I am not a DC local, it would not be practical for me to be the main organizer. DC locals, the ball is in your court.

As for PS, a fun weekend. Last year I went for the first time. I had some trepidation about going, but I met some great people and caught up with a few old friends and some guys I had not seen in quite a while. Oliver throws a fun party. Kessler was a great host but not sure as to whether it will be at his home again. Only one warning, a weekend in Palm Springs is not enough. Be sure to plan on arriving early and stay an extra day or three.

I may go but not sure yet. Depends on air fare and hotel rates. If stage coach is anything like coachella attendance wise it would be smart to book NOW as someone had mentioned. Yrs back when I went to coachella the hotels in ps were sky high for that weekend and I ended up staying at a gay resort which was fine and very not what I expected, in a good way.

That's great. I am glad you are doing it that way. I heard from one of the attendees at the DC luncheon that one of the escorts sitting at his table shamelessly ordered the most expensive entrée on the menu and then bragged about it. I could tell you who the escort is, but not yet. He ordered 'surf & turf' apparently. That is not only a sign of poor manners, it is not classy at all. But I am glad you are doing it differently in PS. Better to have everybody pay for their own meals, unless of course you are an escort and you are being hosted by a client. The DC luncheon was a limited menu not a la carte meal, so the story of it happening at the luncheon is apocryphal. There was a dinner on Friday night before the luncheon and I am not aware of who ordered what. Someone may have ordered Surf and Turf, but as I recall, I was asked for a sum of money that would have barely covered my meal plus tip, so I am not sure how the full finances of that dinner worked.

I'm considering going. However, this is the same thing that almost held me back from coming to the luncheon in DC. I can't even begin to describe how much of a turn off it is to see posts complaining about spending an extra $25 on something like food and on the flip side hiring escorts. Killian what you are suggesting is exactly how Oliver runs the Saturday Dinner.

In the past the Saturday evening dinner is, as Purplekow stated, a menu limited to five or six offerings. Each menu offering includes starter, soup or salad, entree, and dessert. Wine is included and the cost has been about $45.00 plus or minus per person and tip is included. Oliver usually has a couple of friends collecting the money at the restaurant before the dinner. The bar at the restaurant is no host.

The Sunday Pool Party is totally free. All food and drink is provided by the Oliver and his assistants.

Those who attend the Sunday after Pool Party Dinner usually ask for and get separate checks.

I like the idea of the limited menu. I remember one meet up during IML in Chicago not enough was thrown in to cover the bill and some ended up paying more than what they consumed. It can really be hard planning a meal out with such a large group.
