Too much to write here. I am composing a new thread about all of this which will be painfully honest. I am thrilled to hear that the stunningly gorgeous Kurtis is so busy......BUT.... the vast majority of well reviewed (even star) escorts I have personally spoken to since the raid went down are sitting home alone most nights with no clients at all unless they want to do a $100 craigslist call and risk arrest. It is a problem that is years old but the overwhelming majority of POTENTIAL clients do not know RENTMEN. COM even exists. It is a fabulous site and I have advertised with them for many years and the site reaches the GAY community but not the closeted married guys who would hire and need discretion. I still get more ACTUAL bookings from www.men4rentnow than I do from rentmen which is a shame. I am finding that even REGULAR clients are AFRAID t0 do anything since the illegal closure and seizure of rentboy went down. My new thread will cover this. MIKEY in DC

They don't currently have an ad up, but I'm certain David Benjamin, Donnie Dean, Jessie Colter, Trenton Ducati and Mitch Branson all had ads up on either rentmen or men4rentnow recently or relatively so. Tommy Defendi I believe is retiring or already has.

 

Maybe they are on a seasonal hiatus or because of the raid, they have enough guys they don't need to advertise.

No, not necessarily. It just means they don't need to advertise. To get a hold of them you may need to find their old contact info or get a referral from someone. It just makes them more exclusive! When business dips they may need to start advertising again.

As far as using old contact info, I find that potentially awkward if they are indeed retired and wish communication on the topic ceased. Also, some of those guys used to post upcoming travel plans. It would seem awkwardly random of me to ask when they're coming to my town again, especially if they are retired.

I can't agree with you on that.

I'm going to tell you what I tell a lot of my friends/family... it doesn't hurt to ask. The worse case scenario is you'll get a no or no response at all.

 

It's one thing if you see a (Daddy's) review on the escort and it says he's retired. I probably wouldn't randomly email that person asking if they are available either. However, especially in this circumstance, if you know the person stop advertising around the time RB folded, odds are they are still available, just not advertising. If you really want to see these guys, contact them and simply ask if they are still available and if they are traveling to your area. Take the initiative. However, I do understand that some people have a shyness or reservation about contacting/interacting/etc. with people they don't know.

 

2nd point...

Again, maybe some of the people you listed are fearful of what happened in the rentboy raid and want to lay low until they see an outcome to the situation. And again, some working guys have a client base large enough that (at least for a time) they don't have to advertise at all. They may be waiting out whatever until the dust settles, as it were.

 

My question(s) to you is... of the people you listed, had you seen any of them before? Or are they people on your to-do list? Because if they are people you've seen before, then what's the problem in contacting them to see if they are still in "the biz". As Babyboomer pointed out... at least Jesse has a current ad going.

Have you tried updating your current ads to make them more appealing? Have you tried contacting previous clients to establish better relations for repeat sessions?

To answer your question, no I have never met any of the guys I named; if I had, I certainly wouldn't be shy to ask them if they were still working if I was interested in seeing them again. And no, I don't want you to quiz them on my behalf. (But thanks for offering.) I'd only be interested in meeting two or three of them myself. The rest of the names I only assembled as representative of a group of porn names that seemed to vanish from the advertising scene en masse. I found that curious.

 

And Boomer, thanks for the link to Jessie Colter's ad. It's nice to know he's still around. When I do a search for Jess or Jessie on Rentmen, he does not show up - another sign of the inferiority of the Rentmen website, IMHO.
