I was in contact with rentmen and I'm ECSTATIC to announce that they will now be offering profile verifications. It's a simple process much like the process EROS uses. Escorts can contact rentmen directly and inquire.

Does Eros have male escorts? They did have a relatively small number years ago, and then they went bankrupt or something. When they came back, there was an section that said Male Escort for various Eros Cities. But I never found an actual male escort listed.

The process will be simple. E-mail a scan or picture of a government issued ID along with a CLEAR SELFIE holding up a phrase written on a piece of paper. This is how EROS, the leading escort website in the world verifies escorts. Is it fool proof? It's pretty darn close and a huge step in the right direction for protecting not only escorts but protecting the premium clients of rentmen. In my opinion if you pay for a site you have the right to know that who you're looking at as a potential hire is the real person advertising. This is where rentboy missed the mark, and this is how rentmen is not. If you have any questions e-mail Rick@rentmen.com. He's amazing.

Yes there is one. I will be #2 when my profile gets approved.

When you say 'leading' do you mean the site with the most numerous escorts, or is there some other criteria?

If there is only one male escort so far, and 'leading escort site' does mean most numerous, I guess they have a lot of female escorts listed?

Congratulations on being #2!! I know that as #2 you'll be trying harder!!:p:D (I'm not being mean-you might be too young. But that was Avis' Slogan for a long time.)

Whew! This is good news! Without it, clients would never be able to make credible hiring decisions. :p

Jawja I AM SO with you on that clients need to use their senses when it comes to hiring. My thinking is coming from a different place and a lot of others agree. I don't want want to loose not even a single profile hit, email, phone call, or lead to a fake profile if measures can be put into place to stop that from happening

I agree with you KJ, and I'm all for fakes being exposed, deprived of online access and web traffic, and having the opportunity to defraud the unsuspecting. This not only helps the new and naive, but long-timers too, apparently. Just casual reading around here shows that some guys can't figure this stuff out even after years of participating. Go figure.

I agree that this is a great initiative from RM and it will help filter out the flakes and frauds. It will depend on how many guys chose to use it. Guys like KJ who are known quantities could survive and even prosper without using it but that belies the value of the initiative. It is the new guys who aren't already reviewed that we need to have RM's validation of, not the guys we already know are real.

I have to agree and also disagree on that those of us who participate here are known quantities. We might be known to THIS community, but we aren't know to the masses. Many of my clients had no idea I even do porn and many have never even heard of this site. The reality is a lot of people don't live in our world. They don't trove the forum or the blogs and they don't have time for it. I am super excited to see how this is going to impact the site.

I agree that verification is a really great start, and that we who frequent this forum are a tiny subset of the escort/client community.

Even so, YOU had to explain to us what verification means and why it is valuable. I wonder if there is a way for Rentmen to prominently display the verification process. Have a link in Red that says 'Why Use Verified Escorts', then clicking on the link would take the client to a explanation of the verification process (similar to the explanation you gave us).

I remember back when some escorts claimed to be RentBOY verified...I assumed there was no formal process, therefore it held no value to me. If anything, it was a negative , since I assumed the escort was claiming a false credential.

Kurtis, I guess that is part of the balance you have to strike. Can you build your credibility as an escort without the RM validation process. Many can do that, but if so, what do they need RM for? Arguably if you have established your bona fides RM allows you to say where you are, and what you are interested in right now.

My only concern with this is what they'll do with the verification information afterwards. Is it immediately deleted? Do they just keep a unique signature of the information, etc? Hell, I don't even like having my bank know my current license information.

That's how my identity was stollen last time ( bank employee ).

even if they promise to permanently delete the information (as if that was possible to do) I wouldn't trust they would do it.

Let's remember what happened to all the men and women who paid an extra fee to have their records deleted from Ashley Madison...

I has always behooved me how some clients don't seem to think rationally when it comes to hiring and especially considering the potential risks not to mention the bucks involved.

However, coming from the other side of the equation Killian is showing some good business sense!

Not only do many clients not know of this site and more specifically this forum, but even some escorts don't even know that this forum exists! I have indeed had to inform a few over the years! A couple now post their travel schedule here after being informed that it is an additional area to get their message out there and to a bunch of guys who are often serious about their hiring.

I had not thought about that and that is indeed a concern. With any luck the site will prove to be reputable, but then again what if...???!!! Plus, I can list quite a few "what if" scenarios that even with the site being reputable and careful with the information could lead to a bit of a conundrum.

Still given all the info that's out there about everyone, unfortunately these are the risks that many of us have to take to simply live in this world. Even in my now defunct little business operation I could have ripped off the identity of quite a few clients... It honestly never crossed my mind, but if perhaps I had an employee who was dishonest it could easily have happened.

One can only hope that they don't do what Killian James does with personal information and post it on twitter. Just yesterday, James again posted the private mobile number of an individual on twitter who contacted him regarding his services. regardless of the intent of the person inquiring, James needs to use better discretion and and impulse control with peoples personal information.

There's is absolutely no way in hell that I will send an escort advertisement site mine or Thor's information. Rent boy didn't have any of my info for a reason.

I don't show my face on my ad, so there would be no picture to cross reference against. But regardless of that, there is no way I will allow a EU company to have my identity.

I would not trust any person with my information, and I would not trust any website or security encrypted device.

If a client wants to verify whether I am a real person or not he can read my many reviews. I have worked hard and long enough to amass them. If this is not enough for him, then I am a peaceful with the thought he will go meet someone else who is willing to jump through hoops.

What a dumb idea. An advertisement site trying to control the quality of their clients through something as malleable as images. Like people won't "verify" their profile and then change to altered pictures. Also, I don't want to tell you how incredibly easy it is to photoshop Zeb Atlas' face on a drivers license to match one of thousands of Zeb's selfies already flooding the internet on to which it's incredibly easy to add a hand written sentence. I could create a profile and verify it with Brad Pitt's face in less than an hour.

Nope.

I think it's a good idea. Optional but not mandatory so those who want it can capitalize on it, and those who want to pass can pass. Everyone wins. Now if only they would have some sort of client verification process as well.

I have a rentmen client profile. It'd be a pleasure if you would verify my ID.

I'm actually kind of surprised they just didn't make it simpler by just doing a Skype Video Call. If the purpose is to just make sure you match the photos in your profile then that would be the easiest method.
That's actually what an escort site here in Europe does. They briefly Skype with the escort to see if he matches his pictures. The site has several levels of certification: phone number is verified through text message (kinda like whatsapp does), picture accuracy and realness through Skype and they also have a short questionnaire that the escort can fill out.

The site's really local, though and only serves Belgium and the Netherlands.

Also the clients have to pay to get the escort's contact info, which I think is stupid since you can find many of the escort on Planet Romeo as well.
