All compliant Pro-Ads in the Escort category will be moved to Masseur from now on. They claim it is because of "several infringements of our Pro-Supporters rules made by some Pro-Escort-Supporters." Seems like a big coincidence to me that they suddenly care about "ads proposing directly or indirectly sexual behavior."

I think this is going to be an issue for non-massage escorts and make it more difficult for people who don't know about the change to find what they are looking for.

Anyway, they are offering refunds to those who do not want to be moved.

Thoughts? Are they smart for doing this? Or too little too late?

Absolutely unbelievable that the world is up to its ass in terrorist activities and all Homeland can find to do is hassle innocent citizens. Can you say, "Victimless crimes"? I've sent a small donation to the RB defense fund. I want to do more. I am so pissed. What else needs to be done?

Question; in A4A where are the "massage" sections??

All Pro ads fall under the same heading on the left hand bar titled "PROS" and then are labelled by category of which there are many...

I say we all move to "Therapists". Or "consultants" cuz who uses that and that's what I say on my taxes.

Ironically when I was researching my last post I came across a couple of people listed in Consultants, haha!

I have been advertising on Adam4Adam for a while but infrequently meet clients on there. Since it is not a site solely used for escorting, it's always been difficult to set clear expectations on rates and in my experience, the clientele is not the most respectful. I have met many great clients on there in the past and have been using it more since rentboy shut down so I am sad to see them remove their escort section.

I agree that this will be an issue for non-massage escorts and make it more difficult for clients to meet escorts on the site. I will probably remove my ad because I do not want to pose as a masseur to offer escort services.

I think they are obviously reacting to the rentboy shut down. I don't think it's necessary because I don't think that the DHS is going to be going after smaller sites. The rentboy dilemma is very complicated and I think it has a lot to do with money and politics, not actually stopping "prostitution."

On the 'PRO' pages here in New York, there are still 10+ pages with guys listing themselves as escorts ... as of Sept 17.

I think it is a pretty manual process since they are going to screen every ad to see if it is suitable then change them all.

You know, now that I slept on it...I really don't think this change their doing will have much bearing on anything. Because honestly, many towns and cities I go to...I end up switching my ad over the masseur anyway (or dancer...another category). Many of the people are already half scared that anyone advertising as escort is a cop or something, so by placing ads as masseur (or dancer), it actually might make things better, while "helping to" eliminating the guys who aren't really in it seriously.

I guess there's no need of cursing and predicting apocalypse. Besides, most of these guys who ask for massage on Adam, I always find out what they really want anyway. That's why sites like massage m4m and masseur finder, you will find many escorts on there. However, even they made some content changes, and their prices are way too high to advertise on each month.

Dear God! Now what? So far, I've seen Adam4Adam mentioned. RentMen is still working. Where are we to go as Client? Appreciate any feedback!!

Men4rent, hourboy (based in Europe), and of course here.

I've also had my own website out now for some time (my web host allows escort ads as it is based in the UK), and it's times like this that make it that much important to have one. So if ever there were an apocalyptic meltdown, atleast I'd have my own website to fall back on.

http://www.gayromeo.com wants escorts from the US to advertise at its site. I've been a free member for over two years (as a client), for they're seeking more guys from this country to be there doing business. So, that is another outlet for all concerned.

I really don't think it is a big deal. There are ways of writing a masseur ad to suggests you are open to other things. Let me give you an example:

Here is the 'masseur' ad of SimplyAdam: http://www.adam4adam.com/profile/view/SimplyAdam

What I find very clever, is how he describes his service: "I skillfully combine myriad methods to work with your body to transcend the typical service." The 'myriad' suggests variety and I read 'transcending' as moving above and beyond what you would normally expect. I think this is very smart. The guy writes very well!

Disclosure: I live in NYC but never hired SimplyAdam

Adam is an excellent escort, body worker and more! Too bad you've never tried him. He has great reviews:

I think my problem with escorts masquerading as masseurs is it reinforces the perception that they are unworthy people who should be hidden or disguised from the public. Damn it! It's the 21st century. At least it is in the rest of the world. Fucking grow up, America. If an adult guy wishes to sell a sexual service voluntarily and I wish to buy it voluntarily, where's the harm to society?

Legalize voluntary sex sales between consenting adults!

well put, Glennnn. personally, I'm disappointed to read comments by escorts who seem to have no problem putting their escort ads under masseur ads. I'm also disappointed because it seems that websites like adam4adam are kowtow'ing to the government from the rentboy arrests. that's especially upsetting because escorting is a legal line of work - and will remain so, unless some new laws are made that says otherwise. as others have said on the forum, including Daddy himself, people need to stay calm through this.

keep calm and hire on.

keep calm and advertise on.

keep calm and review on.

bottom line: keep calm and keep fucking.

If this was legal, why are there sting operations by law enforcement and arrests?

While I am in favor of legalizing escorting/prostitution, it is naïve to think that it will happen in the USA in the near future. In the mean time, service providers and clients need to find creative and intelligent ways to protect themselves. I have absolutely no problem with that.

that's precisely the point. "prostitution" is an illegal activity. "escorting" is not. law enforcement can carry out sting operations and arrests for any activity, it then goes on to a court case. as I understand it, with the Rentboy arrests, they will seek to show that "escorting" is prostitution. and as we all know, there is a defense side to this.

Yeah but what if you're not a masseur?

Here's what the strange thing to this whole situation with A4A is: Some of the longstanding PROS who are escorts still have they're escorting ads with explicit naked pics on there. I wonder if they're only applying the rules to "newbies" on the site and not "old timers" who's been on there forever since the site started.

Seems odd how they said when they made the announcement all members had 24-48 hours to convert from being an "Escort" to Masseur", but still a lot of the PROS still are advertising as escorts and they ad is not removed or suspended. WOW.

I think if you didn't change it yourself they still haven't gotten around to it, Mine didn't change until I had to update mine though and when I did that, the "escort" category is no longer selectable and they cut the word count too, which was just rude so I had to redo the whole thing.
