So, James Blake has been in the news lately due to the incident with the NYC police. I had forgotten what an incredibly handsome guy he is. *wow* Makes me want to watch tennis again!!

Away back in 2000, I spent Labor Day weekend at the US Open. I remember seeing an excellent match at night with James Blake, a cutie and a great tennis player. Marat Safin (first photo) won that year over Sampras in straight sets in the final. I believe I saw Safin play twice that weekend Saturday and Monday. Great memories.

I added a photo of Safin just now, Charlie. I can only see my post. True the last photo of Safin with a big smile (just before Blake) only appears about 70% of the time even on my computer. Are others not getting that large photo of Marat Safin at all? If so, I need to delete the post.

He has a nice face and body, but either baldness or rat's nest hair are real turn-offs for me...

Andre Agassi used to have nice hair...

His bald head makes me soft, though:

I was very impressed by Mr. Blake as he handled the press very adroitly when they were going after the police department. It turns out that the person who knocked him down has had previous disciplinary problems with similar behaviors. Mr. Blake was so good looking that one of the female reporters I saw had trouble concentrating on her job. His great physique was evident in the casual form fitting shirt and slacks he was wearing. So, guess I must go checking him out on videos that might be available. Sure wish he were a model too !!

James Blake has always been a class guy. When he was playing during his long career, James could have lost some weigh. He has slimmed down now. His weigh situation was one reason why he was not all that well known during his tennis days. And although James won consistently he played in the era right after Courier. Sampras and Agassi and during the era of Djokovic, Federer and Nadal -- all Grand Slam winners and four of the six men have 10 or more slams.

Blake never won any of the Grand Slams, even Andy Roddick only won one.

Thanks for the pictures of James Blake. I'm always happy to see such a beautiful man, but I'm sorry that he's in the headlines because of such an ugly incident. James Blake did do a bit of modeling during his playing days, but not that much, certainly not nearly as much as he could have given his movie-star looks. Even though he never achieved that much success in tennis (highest ranking was #4, reached 3 Slam quarterfinals), I always thought James would clean up in endorsements after retiring. I mean, come on, look at the guy! Plus everybody loves James - fans, pundits, fellow players, everybody. Anna Kournikova has amassed a $50 million net worth despite never winning a WTA-level singles tournament. Then again, the lucrativeness of modeling for men vs. women are two very different universes.

Mr. James Blake has always been on my radar. After all of the headlines and television coverage regarding the acute harassment that he received by the hands of that "friggin' rouge cop," and from this thread, I decided to check to see if he were a single man. Much to my dismay and chagrin, he's not. He married a few years back! Well, guess I have to continue to marvel at his good looks and fantasize!
