LOL not really, except I saw him a few times he and his wife lived on Ocean Ave the St that runs above PCH (along the ocean ie Santa Monica/Malibu) in this huge new round glass building that hung out over the ocean ALL glass round front like a ship they had the whole front of one entire upper floor musta been amazing view. When my bud and his partner split my bud rented a SMALL 1br there for about a year, and we saw him down by the pool a few times in shorts and a hat yelling at people smoking around the pool. (it was legal but I guess he just hated it ;). He looked nothing like his younger self I wouldn't have known was him if my bud hadn't told me was him:).

Larry's wife, Maj, is suffering from dementia. I did meet her briefly in New York, while Larry was taping "Dallas" on the west coast. She is a nice person. It must have been difficult when Larry and his mom had such a distant relationship when Mary was married to her second husband. But, after his death, they got to know each other again very well.

How did a thread about The Townhouse turn into a 'Broadway' discussion? Wouldn't it be better to start a new thread than to hijack a thread that is about something totally different?

N13, as I scrolled a while ago, "your thoughts" entered my head as well. How in the hell "did a thread about The Townhouse turn into a 'Broadway' discussion?" As a reader of this thread, I had wanted to read and to reread about the "TH," not about Broadway. If I'd wanted the latter, I know where to get my information, past and present! :(:(:(

It was probably because he was an ex-smoker.

THE TOWNHOUSE IS A BAR. YOU HAVE TO DRESS NICE. THERE IS A DOORMAN. IF YOU WANT A BOY BRING MONEY AND STAY IN THE FRONT. IF YOU WANT TO SING TO PIANO MUSIC AND SHOWTUNES ALONG WITH (ONCE IN THEIR FAR DISTANT PAST) CHORUS BOYS, GO TO THE BACK. There. That's all you need to know.:confused::confused:

Larry was a smoker, a heavy drinker and was aware of LSD & weed, as well as other stimulants.

Larry has a half-sister, Heller Halliday. But, he also has/had a half brother, Gary Hagman. I was not aware he did a huge number of live TV dramas in New York in his early years. And he was in the chorus of "South Pacific" in London.

East 58th Street between 3rd Avenue and 2nd Avenue. When it first opened in early '90's was for uptown gay yuppies, a great pick up spot then over years it morphed into a pick-up spot for well behaved working guys ( dress code and it's enforced) particularly after Rounds on East 53rd Street was shut down in the late 90's. Have not been there in about 10-12 years and the last few times I was there was mostly bridge and tunnel types and tourists . Don't know that I would make a special trip to NYC for purposes of visiting the place you might be really disappointed..

So, what you're suggesting is that escorting in NYC has reverted back to the unhealthy and dangerous venue of "hustler bar" antics as seen in the late 60's and 70's~? I'll be keeping my

eyes open to see how sex relate crime, sex related violence and higher incidence of STD's goes up as a result~

Tyger, I believe I understand the gist of your comment, but I would like to take it a bit further by pointing out that sex related crime, violence, and STD's are more relatable to individuals, not venues.

PERSONALLY I think there is nothing more BENEFICIAL than the opp of seeing in person and interacting with a potential scort BEFORE hiring. I don't see what's particularly "more" unhealthy or dangerous than doing it in the way we do now in the digital age. (yes I get that we can, if available, check a review or get a 2nd opinion on a forum like here, but fact is the VAST majority of men who hire do more due-diligence when hiring a cleaning girl than they do for a scort) AND I get that there's perhaps even MORE anonymity in person since it involves no social media footprint to trace which may give a bad guy a freer hand re danger/crime etc. But I truly think it's a 6 of one half doz of the other thang when it comes to method of meeting.

Agree completely.

I hired escorts for my first ten-twenty times at Rounds. Just very glad I had that wonderful experience before the bar closed.

Ditto. And at Show Palace, Gaiety, Cats and Stella's. The bar tenders at Cats and Stella's were always a good source of information on the working boys - positively or negatively. Boys with a bad reputation were barred by management. A lot less risky than hiring online!

Yes same is true of Townhouse, IF a boy is bad news it only takes a few regulars to get the ear of the bartenders or doorman etc and even if the circumstances are not substantial enough to bar (no longer admit) him, he might as WELL not come in anymore because anyone seen engaging him will get a heads up warning. (Once sev years ago was talking to a very cute guy looked like Keannu Reeves circa Private Idaho, when I went to get another drink the bartender put it down in front of me leaned in and said "guy you're talking to? ...and just shaked his head "no". THAT was all I needed didn't need to know the deets it was good enough for me :)
