Yikes, I was almost there earlier today. My "subscription" lapsed the other week but ive been preoccupied w college registration so i put off re-upping --- i always deal w them in person w cash---- so anticipating i'd complete a gruesome registration process by late morning, today was THE day i'd planned to stop by their office. I was in the hood walking over and got as close as 23rd when I saw the crosstown bus and lazyness directed my feet straight home instead. I do hope all those involved come out of this relatively unscathed. Say what you might about RB, their employees don't deserve to be publicly outed and arrested under these circumstances.

Excellent response to today's raid from a Southern Florida Lawyer:

Here's another good response that Danny Cruz linked on his website. http://www.boytoy.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.png (click underlined links for websites)

What a waste of time and budget! You'd think 'Homeland Security Investigations' (HSI) would have something better to investigate. http://www.anothermessageboard.com/images/smilies/detective.gif

Killian James' Facebook page appears to have been taken down. His Twitter page says his "Tweets" are protected. Chris Harder lamenting the raid on his Twitter p.

Just spoke with Killian recently and he's doing fine, and is not worried in the least of the situation as he's fully "protected" by fellow attorneys. :).

Kudos to him as he's a brave warrior in this whole mess, and will come out of it a fighter I'm sure.

He took Down his Facebook page and he's "brave?" Lol

He said on FB recently he was finished doing porn anyway.

How recent was this? Sorry, but it's the first I'm hearing of this as he seems to be happy with his porn career? At least from it appears to me.

Would somebody correct be if I'm wrong but couldn't a site like rentboy simply move offshore to a more hospitable jurisdiction? What jurisdiction would the Feds have in places like the Cayman Islands, Martinique, or Aruba for example?

Not being in the least concerned is callous. Two of the people arrested are friends of mine, one of them has been an activist for years, and he's focused much of his working life toward making sure escorts have a support network.

Wish that was funny. :(

I agree Devon, but have you forgotten where you are? Lots of finger pointing and accusations....waiting for some definitive answers as to what the Feds really were after. I for one wish all the escorts out there, involved or not, all the best.

Really, it seems like it was just a few months ago that he was touting his new contract. Still I'm sure filming is not easy. I'm surprised anyone can do it.

I agree that there is no need for an escort to be concerned AS LONG as he has been declaring his income and paying his share of federal, state, and local taxes on his earnings....

By my estimate, the average age of RB advertisers is somewhere north of 30.

Homeland Security's assertion that men in their 30s and 40s are victims of sex trafficking is a callous affront to the real victims of sex trafficking -- young women and children.

Shame! Shame!

Aside from the compromised functionality of the Rentboy site, and the missing pictures, I've noticed that the number of escorts in Manhattan is slowly declining ... it was in the 420s two or three hours ago and is now down to 400.* Anyone know if escorts can remotely deactivate their own ads, or do we think there are Rentboy employees still at work, or is this just symptomatic of the slow demise of the site?

(*I think that number was usually close to 500.)

I'll bet that Fed who wrote about rimseats went out and bought one.

LOL...Or the person who mentioned they had to find out what a "sling" was....really?....If that's their story. ;)

Perhaps there is a silver lining in all this?

If the the Rentboys in NYC were cut in half, as it was mentioned to me, that would be a good thing. The cream always rises to the top...
